team cycle.

Sounds like the perfect way to cycle. GIP receptor desensitization is a thing. This gives you a way to continue the progress of weight-loss and keep the benefits of glp1. 3 months on tirzepatide then switch to maritide for 3 months. lather rinse repeat. COOL!

GIP receptor desensitization? Can you elaborate where you have seen this? In the recent SURMOUNT-1 extended trial of tirzepatide, the weight loss was very constant. Even after 3,5 years and no signs of tolerance.

Are you referring to Insulin Resistance?

Aside from the fact that GIP is a peptide, and in the peptide world, they are cycled for many reasons, there are a ton of studies about the GIP Receptor (GIPR) desensitization phenomona. It makes sense in my not-a-doctor-brain that cycling GIP is not a bad idea. one of my sources is from the NIH national library of medicine. Title: A Naturally Occurring GIP Receptor Variant Undergoes Enhanced Agonist-Induced Desensitization, Which Impairs GIP Control of Adipose Insulin Sensitivity quote from it: "The response to GIP is blunted in insulin resistance, obesity, and T2DM (60-63). The underlying cause of this GIP resistance is not known. Our data suggest that one possible mechanism of resistance is that persistent elevations of GIP levels due to overstimulation of K cells, as a consequence of overnutrition, induce prolonged agonist-induced desensitization (downregulation) of the GIP receptor (60). Since the downregulation of the receptor occurs in a dose-dependent fashion, even small but persistent elevations of GIP levels could result in desensitization over time."@@Dronk1717

@@Dronk1717 We cycle all the other peptides. And most of us increase our Tirzepatide doses cuz they because they become less effective over time. There are plenty of studies about GIP desensitization. from NIH national library of medicine. We have seen desenitization in pertri dishes. Similar to the study you shared up there. However, it hasn't held true from a clinical perspective. The STEP 5 trial showed that the drug doesn't lose effectiveness overtime. And in fact cycling may do more harm than good by leading to greater metabolic adaptations.

The loss of bone density data with Maritide gives me pause

It's so hard to know which is better. Now, instead of anxiety over food noise, we now have noise over medicine .. which will work? , will my insurance cover it? How will all these medicines affect my body in the long run? But as always, thanks for providing the information to absorb

Thanks for the video...very interesting. I am on Zepbound, which is working well for me...although I am definitely a slow responder to the medication as compared to some. But I am happy with the slow consistent weight loss.

That is amazing to hear!

Interesting info. But would Maritide give the satiety feeling and hush the food noise as the other peptides?

Which is cheaper? 😏

I have switched from Wegovy 4 months ago to Mounjaro (7.5mgs). My weight loss is slow but still coming off. But I am experiencing severe cold on the Mounjaro and I hate it. I probably don't do enough exercise. Not sure I would switch to a new drug but thinking I should go back to Wegovy.
