I have just bought a GoPro 10 (day 1) and am horrified with how quickly the battery drains! It was draining around 5% for a 30 second to 1 minute video! I have just changed all the settings as per your vid here (🙏🙏)..just took a 90 second vid using 1080/30 in standard and drained 2%...still seems excessive to me! So based in this, the full battery would give me 75 mins recording where I am not mucking around with the camera on and setting etc. Is this normal? It also wouldn't turn on yesterday after I put it on to charge the battery. It stopped charging at 60%, and wouldn't turn on or charge again for an hour-ish. Note: I live in humid tropics - 33C average (feels like 36+) with min 26C at night. Heading to Antarctica (so f*&ckin excited)...will buy 2x extra batteries, but kinda concerned it might be a dud! Any thoughts or advice?

Hi Sandra, thanks for your comment . Sorry to hear you are having these issues with your new GP. Firstly, what batteries came with your GP ? If it's the Blue capped ones they are terrible. They never seem to last long and you always need to carry spares. I would def suggest getting some Enduro batteries. They have the same capacity but with a different make up they last longer and are especially useful in colder climates. The blue ones will shut down the GP if they get too cold. As you'll soon be hanging out with the penguins, this would be the first thing I'd do. Also , to limit battery usage try to utilise the quick capture option. Press to start recording and then press again to stop and turn off your GP. This will save battery that is wasted when it's in stand by mode. I would also connect your GP to the Quik app to see if you need an update to your GP. It only takes a few minutes and they may iron out any bugs that you have. Hope this helps. Give these things a try and let me know how you go. I've included a link to the enduro batteries below. amzn.to/4e0uT0v
