Too much blow by can cause the oil to fill up in the head to since it’s where all the pressure exits through the oil drains of the head, then makes it’s way out of the breather. @1234567890CAB Жыл бұрын
It looks like the oil is not draining down fast enough to the pan from the head. The valve cover is getting pressurized with blowby and oil. That would be the only thing that could explain the amount of oil that came out onto the window. You need to upgrade to a dry-sump system. Like other's have said a vacuum pump would help. A dry-sump system also acts as a vacuum pump by sucking all the oil out of the crankcase. Having a negative pressure in the crank case would also help suck the extra oil down out of the head. Furthermore, the lower the pressure in the crankcase, the larger the pressure difference across the cylinders. That means the combustion is pushing the pistons a bit harder.

There's a world record holder in the F.A.S.T. series that uses a big electric pump that he turns on just before he makes a pass that vacuums air out of the engine and increases horsepower very noticeably by getting rid of crankcase pressure. The real issue is gonna be deeper, a healthy engine shouldn't be making that much crank case pressure, with the amount of oil that came out when it blew I'm betting there are plugged oil galleys from the head to the block, or an issue with the rings blowing by and pressurizing the bottom end to the point oil can't drain back to the pan, something real strange going on with this motor.

My guess would be engine harmonics caused the failure because the engine stayed on the limiter for the back half of the track. Helped by the 20psi crank case pressure obviously. If crank case pressure alone caused it it would have happened earlier in the weekend. A dry sump will solve or vastly improve the high crankcase pressure, produce more consistent oil pressure under high g etc and free up a bit of power too. Yes it's a high price item but on a high power billet block setup it becomes an investment.

Do u think the valve cover broke because it was full of oil and the oil is pumping up faster than it can return to the pan? You may need to put dry sump return pickup in the head. Just from the way oil came out and hit back glass didnt look like crank case psi. To me. Just my 2 cents worth for today 😊

Cleetus and Cooper said those Honda guys have to change the engine every 2 passes 😂 but that valve cover is crazy!

Time for a billet valve cover

Billet won't fix his problem. Engine has too much crankcase pressure. He needs a dry sump or more breathers.

No one can say y’all didn’t try! Good work boiz!! You have a year of testing to get ready for the next WCF!

Make a plemun box to those "breathers" its hard to push a static amount of pressure through hoses. I do duct work/airflow for living
