Thanks for the review Will! Always good to hear your opinion. I wished Fanatec would have had two wheels on offer for their intro into WRC license : one being this one (which, as you mentioned is really very close to the P1 as an affordable option), and another more premium ‘Clubsport’ version maybe with better materials, rotary dials etc. But OMG that $AUS price is grand larceny! 😫 I guess I’ll keep using my BMW GT2 wheel for now.

Preordered this along with the CSL DD, seems like they will be a good pairing. I wasn't prepared to dumb 400 dollars plus on a wheel along with the DD base and their stupid 8 NM power supply, which i also purchased because capitalism is ok with me. Wanted that extra 3 NM, will make a big difference from the T300 i am currently using. At least i hope so lol. Great video btw man, as always.

I'm in a similar situation, I'm in Wave 2 which looks like its speeding up :) Question, curious, if this will have a low torque mode on it with CDL DD 8Nm? I'm ready to order, but not sure if I should wait for the new RS? And instead, buy the GT3 now, although I want to do Rally most of all.

I've owned two thustmaster tx (both got bricked, due to tm poor reliability) and a Logitech g923, now I'm with the csl dd and even considering it is more expensive the ffb and detail it transmit it's something I've never experienced on the other wheels.

I pre ordered the P1 Black Friday wheel for racing sims where I'll need a round wheel (rally, drifting) I almost bought the WRC wheel back when I originally pre ordered the CSL DD and McLaren wheel, glad I waited. Got the P1 for $100. Hope it's close to this wheel or at least decent enough, great review.

It looks like a good choice if you're buying/have a non-DD wheelbase. My personal preference would be a larger (320mm - 330mm) leather-wrapped wheel. Anyone have a source for DIY wireless button boxes? Before this came out I was thinking about getting a Momo wheel and adding just the buttons I want for Rally driving - I'll probably stick with that plan if I can find info on connecting buttons through the hub or via Bluetooth/wifi - It's probably out there on the web someplace.

Wow I didnt know about the wheel not letting you use high mode on the DD1?? I thought I asked them that before i ordered and they said this wheel will work fine with it. What are you limited to with this wheel. I just ordered a DD1 with this wheel. Mainly because it was one of the only ones showing in stock without going top tier. The DD1 goes up to 20 with the key in if I recall. Whats the limit with this wheel. Maybe i need to swap it out

Hi Will! Unfortunately my throttle for the g29 gets stuck at about 25% very frequently so my consistency is non existent. I get frustrated quickly and have stopped playing with the wheel for a month or two. I've been looking at upgrading to fanatec gear. Thanks for making this video!

It is a potentiometer pedal set, therefore they are prone to dust artifacting, all you need to do is blow away the dust from within the potentiometer or even better, if you can, use the contact cleaner spray and after that seal the hole on the potentiometer with a piece of tape.

The biggest problem with the snap dome paddles is that they wear down after only a couple months. I noticed it first on the up shifter then a few months after, the downshifter... now one year later, both paddles have no feel/click to them what so ever. They're completely linear

Huh, all your tidbits really sold this as my first wheel for my newly scored 2.5 base. Moving from an old GT3 porsche thing and this is going to be ridiculously smooth as a transition. I do use buttons for tapping the handbrake in hairpins in DR2.0 and in VR the wheel could be pink for that matter. Plastic on top and the tire threads look a bit tacky in particular, though. The universal hub and rim can wait until the post-pandemic-ex-girlfriend-dumping-her-ex's-stuff-for-cheap-online wave comes in.

Hey how you all doing, fan and subscriber to your channel. I have just recently purchased the GT DD PRO wheel combo but I have an Xbox and so I also purchased the CSL WRX wheel so I can use the base. You stated in this video that there is a certain screw or button needed on the wheel hub to let the base use full torque but that the WRX does not have this. So then does that also carry over to the CSL DD base? Meaning did I buy a boost kit 180 only to make it in active because of the wheel I chose? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Okay I am on the fence between buying the BMW replica rim from fanatic and the GT rim with lime green accent the BMW has two vibrating Motors. the GT wheel does not do the two vibrating Motors make that much of a difference to not purchase the GT style Rim which I actually really want. Great review, not sure how many people will be using this on a DD base though? I bought it together with a clubsport setup (pedals, base, shifter) as I prefer the look, the button layout and the quick release design to the clubsport wheels. Glad to hear the shifters are good too :) Hopefully UPS will pull themselves together and get this delivered to me soon ;)

For mine its just a P1, the glass fiber quick release ,well, depending on the rating, ive seen many a glass fiber cordless drill crack and fail. I think it will fit a small market of people who play more arcade style wrc games (anything sim related where you need button mapping this wont do). The problem i see is with the price point,,, if i had a csl elite (which i do) or a clubsport base and was in the market for a new round rim, for only $150 more i could have the BMW. For what it is, it looks very nice, but my v2 could be gold and diamond plated and i still wouldnt notice it while in a race.
