Boosting my Nissan 300ZX: Part 7 - Oil Tree, Exhaust Manifolds and Turbos on my NA Engine!

@02:54 no hate here, the NA block has check valves behinf the oil filter tree (in the block itself) BUT the TT has them built into the tree itself. this means you have to remove those check valves from the block itself (behind the oil filter tree), and replace them with the solid plugs that are found on att block. z1 sells these plugs. if you do no make this change, all the presure that is needed to oipen your check valve to feed oil though your oil cooler at higher rpms. will not feed the cooler, that presure will instead be bypassed through those check valves behind the oil filter tree, and back feed that extra presure around your oil filter and no where near the oil cooler, so your oil will never cool how it is supposed to. this also reduces the amount of oil pressure that makes it to your turbo oil feeds passages. you HAVE to remove those check valves behind the tree in the block, and replace them with solid plugs, so the TT oiling system will work as designed from factory. sorry to share this late. but it IS essential to do this.

Your project is looking good and I feel excited for you with this progress. There is light at the end of the tunnel. When I performed a lot of work on my 94'na at 98k I replaced the oil pressure sending unit with a new OEM. It registered lower than the original. lol I understand it is not uncommon for these ZX sending units to show "low" pressure when pressure is really ok. About the highest I see on gauge is 55psi.😎 go man go!

I know the oil pressure might still be in accurate after all this and I’m prepared for it lol if it doesn’t work out I’ll just get an aftermarket gauge but I wanted to try this first 👍 thanks for the support!!!

That thing is looking good! I’m curious how much of the valve cover you’ll see once the intake is on. Hope it’ll shine through

Very little really, but it will still show through the plenum, hopefully looks great!

Keeping internals the same, high compression. Only aiming for about 450hp or so 👌
