I think Boostio is wrong about the off season and them losing kind of prove it considering Nrg, Sen and G2 all did a bunch of off season tourneys and said it helped them

@@Natty11100 totally agree sen last year is obviously a prime example of this (winning afreeca then masters) theres not really a reason not to do offline tourneys during the offseason. Look at pacific as well Gen.G and especially T1 look great and they were grinding offline tourneys. It just doesn't make sense to not participate. Nadeshot complaining about not being able to watch the team when they literally didn't do any tourneys in the offseason is crazy work.

and zander joined in october of last year they definitely could have played in some tourneys with him. Or if all of them weren't able to attend just sub some people out. I feel like playing matches with more at stake opposed to just scrimming helps regardless of stage experience. Helps you adapt to the meta in a more real setting opposed to just scrimming which is just like a simulation of the real thing with the intention of practicing. While playing in offseason tourneys puts that practice into use to see what does/doesn't work.

I also think the you choose how you want to play the off season, like boostio said he would play differently but if you go into it crossing to try hard and play like it's an official then they might have figured out boostios play style which I noticed immediately during their game vs trust n plug, he's a brand new intitator so he had trouble dying first and leaving his team with no util

Boostio defending the fact that non Riot tournaments do nothing for the team is just pathetic. Its that type of mentality that would get me mad if I was team member or even the owner. The hunger isnt there if you arent trying to win everything sorry.

I'm not a professional pro by any means, but i watch a lot of it. Started supporting 100T because of Hiko and stayed ever since. But no accountability for this kick-off performance is wild. Picking into Bind without making any changes to the comp since Shanghai is wild. Even if you still think that comp is valid, where is a new stuff with it? Still being passive on defense. Attack is readable when you play against good teams as well. You lost 7 out of 8 Binds since Shanghai. One win against MIBR was thanks to winning 2 pistols and MIBR basically not understanding defensive protocols. And it's your best map supposedly? Mid rounding on attack is not existent. I don't know what Boostio does, because he doesn't frag either. -30? seriously? I just don't know at this point.

Our Bind defense used to actually be very aggressive with mid-round reclearing. Part of the variation at Kickoff was to play passive and SEN burned the clock quite a bit until their first timeout. But I do agree with you, I feel like this is the ideal time to innovate. Falling back to comfort on the first tourney of the year doesn’t inspire confidence.

Not participating in the off season to improve new team chemistry due to "burnout from a few players" is a crazy excuse.. When 100T made it to Shanghai Asuna called SEN out for "burning out" and said that 100T is different which was why SEN did not make it to Shanghai. Now all of a sudden when they bomb out of kick off and people are questioning 100T's lack of participation in the off season grind like SEN, NRG, G2, C9, and LOUD, all of a sudden it's because the players were burnt out after not playing half the year? Grind more and start taking the off season more seriously like the rest of the remaining teams left in kick-off that all grinded the offseason 💀
@yoddaeng
@yoddaeng 7 сағат бұрын
they literally said in the podcast after they lost to kru some of them were burnt out and that was obvious with how that played back in stage 2. team chem was never a major priority for them because zander already has chemistry from being former teammates with cryo and eeiu, as well as him and asuna having a lot of chemistry from being go to ranked duos for like 2 years. and zikz wasnt saying theyre burnt out now it was to AVOID burn out later in the season
@jayg3371
@jayg3371 7 сағат бұрын
@@yoddaeng But Asuna said that they wouldn't suffer burnout like SEN did because they just "want it more" in an interview in VCT Shanghai which made Zellsis respond on stream to "keep that same energy later in the year". I guess 100T Asuna got humbled and realized the dangers of burnout AFTER witnessing it for himself lmfao. Yeah I hope that 6 months break to avoid burnout was worth bombing out of kick-off and missing Bangkok, to quote Asuna himself, "they just didn't want it bad enough" like the remaining teams left in kick-off
@yoddaeng
@yoddaeng 7 сағат бұрын
@@jayg3371 thats the thing, asuna never experienced burnout. from what i remember it was zikz eeiu and bang that were the ones burnt out after shanghai/stage 2. ur being so damn dramatic about kickoff where SO many teams are still working on fine tuning themselves and improving on mistakes they have CUZ ITS SO EARLY IN THE SEASON. i agree that playing more in the off season can help but putting so much attention on that is just dumb imo because of the changes that were made before kickoff started
@jayg3371
@jayg3371 6 сағат бұрын
@@yoddaeng The changes were made yet you're ignoring the fact that a majority of the teams that survived kickoff thus far all participated in the off-season to get on stage reps and encountering new issues they were able to fix before coming into kick-off. SEN, NRG, EG, LOUD, G2 all experienced the last minute changes just like 100T but are still in it. So much focus is being put on the off season because the org owner and this clown Boostio saying it's meaningless and pointless and it wouldn't help but you have people like Rob Moore saying everyone is putting the work in and took the off season events seriously while 100T thinks it's meaningless; compete even if the meta is going to change because it helps you identify any issues with team chemistry and adapt.

One thing I was hoping for them to talk about is their map philosophy. Last year 100 thieves were world beaters in just one map: Bind, they were good in icebox and haven, and the other maps were fairly serviceable. And the moment people caught on to their bind or banned them they started losing. What I wanted to see from 100T this season was to have a much more balanced map pool, take the philosophy of Gen G who are fundamentally good on every map with a 7 map pool. This season we saw an amazing lotus, and an amazing split. And yet 100 thieves banned lotus against sen for a reason I really cannot figure out. Going against NRG is definitely unfortunate as we all know NRG were heavily upset from C9 and a bounce back was inevitable. Without a doubt in my mind 100 T would’ve beat C9 and we’d have a decent losers run on our hands. My only advice is to make sure your map pool is fundamentally strong, I would focus on asuna as a super fast entry, and not heavily relying on cryos Jett op on some maps. Double duelist with yoru iso would go crazy trust

Now 100t is out for 2 months and we didn't even get the luxury of watching them perform like sen or NRG in offseason events to build hype for something like a damn bundle. SEN isn't a magic org, they do shit to showcase themselves and that is why they make so much money.
