Nice video James! Reckon this might be good for people with knee issues, the slightly less grip so you wont twist your knee etc. I am using copa mundials right now, but AG really eats them up! After seeing this, my next pair will def. be AG if i cant get a proper fg/ag boot!

Simon you are absolutely correct sir. Would be very beneficial to people with knee problems, still get the boot but the stud pattern is less harsh. I’m pinning your comment that’s a great point. Neymar even did this when coming back from injury.

I totally agree, FG shoes can only be used on FG pitches (Trying to use them on AG will break you ankles) while you can not only play AG shoes on AG but also on FG pitches.(without breaking your ankles). Sooo AG cleats>FG cleats

Boot Wizard 🧙‍♂️. I don’t have any traction issues with FG on AG obviously. My Adidas Nemeziz 18+ have started to show signs of the little black rubber balls getting compacted in between the boot and the sole plate on the tip of the toe. Some of my shiny sole plate is even still on 😂👍.

Water Wizard you get a little bit more life out of adidas boots on AG than Nike ones as well, even though Adidas have changed their Boot description from FG/AG to just FG they are still more durable than the Nike FG boots on AG in my opinion.

In New Zealand, the grounds are generally always soft and not in the best condition so I opted for SG boots. For our occasional AG games though, I used to replace the studs with slightly smaller plastic conical studs. Based on your video, I feel that the studs are still little long and thus dangerous therefore literally just purchased some AG boots. This video also helped as I know that in the rare case I do play on a FG pitch, I can avoid SG stud pressure and use the AG boots. Thanks.

This is 100% what I would do as well in your situation I'd have the SG for the poor ground conditions and the AG to cover everything else. Hope it works out for you. There's another boot channel who are friends of mine YJFootball they're in New Zealand as well and they tell me quite a lot that doing playtests is hard because of the soft ground, so I see where you're coming from for sure.

AG is generally the safer bet and also doesn't invalidate your warranty. AG studs of course not a TF boot

It has to be said though the surface you're playing appears pristine. Perhaps the experience would be different on a less perfect surface?

You're right the AG surface I use is pretty flawless, the FG surface is okay. I would say that on most FG pitches an AG boot like the AG Pro would be absolutely fine, as soon as you start to border on anything that might need an SG boot then it's not a good choice. But realistically that Nike AG Pro plate will work on almost every FG surface, studs are long enough and traction is good. The AG Pro I possibly wouldn't reccomend for a bad AG pitch and you'd be better off with something like a puma MG or the older adidas AG plate, but the AG pitch would have to be particularly poor. As always AG boots on turf like pitches are a big no.

@@ek6744 Artificial Grass and Turf are very different, using studs on a sand based or flat turf pitch will give you no traction and you will slip.

@@ek6744 turf is a hard sand based pitch almost all the time, it will be more abrasive for the studs and dangerous for you. AG boots should be kept for AG or FG pitches

The performance isn't really affected especially on FG ground although it does limit the heat dissipation properties of the studs on AG if you don't clean the mud out before switching surfaces.

@@tonylin100 not to any massive degree, they are usually based on very similar tech with some reinforcement for the AG version and different studs, the plate will feel similar.

Really really nice video but I still have a question. So I want to ask I have an HG/AG boot, do you think I can use on FG which is natural grass pitches? Because I live in Japan so I will wear it on HG and FG pitches most of the time, do you think it is ok or not really? I am also not sure is AG is same as HG so please advise me🙏🙏.

HG and AG are different, however, the stud patterns and soleplates often work very well on both surfaces, so in general if you have a HG boot and a nice FG pitch, you should be fine.

Hey mate just wanted to know that will wearing ag studs on hard grass surfaces wear down the studs faster, I can see some scratches on the bottom of my studs so I was just wondering. Thanks

Honestly all studs are going to get scratched up and in general AG studs will hold up just find on HG surfaces an AG pitch and a HG pitch are fairly similar. It may wear the studs down slightly faster but not to a point that I think it would be a huge issue.

Pretty much depends on how wet the pitch is. If it's firm enough then you should be fine. This time of year you're probably in need of SG boots, so maybe not.

The short answer is that the AG is more versatile and generally I prefer the shape of the boot on the AG boot. The FG is good. But if I'm picking between the 2, pretty much all day, AG for me.

The studs are a little short for FG pitches. They're great for AG HG or even a slightly firmer FG pitch, as soon as it starts getting soft you'll struggle though

It depends on your surface, having conical studs can help take the pressure off when compared to bladed so it might not be a good idea, but I'm not a doctor or an expert

Just curious. Why are there still 3 bladed studs on the AG pattern? Are they still safe for AG and do you feel like you get too much grip?

The AG Pro pattern is designed to give you the maximum grip that you can get away with safely, so some bladed studs are incorporated in certain positions. Ive never had an issue with this particular stud pattern and getting too much grip. Nike do also make an AG R pattern on a select few of their boots which is a more traditional AG stud pattern if that's more what you're looking for, I do also have a video up on that.

In short I don't reccomend it, if it's a true SG pitch then you will lose traction, it's not particularly dangerous unless it's very wet also but your amount of traction will suffer and I wouldn't reccomend it. I can consider a video on it though if I get the right conditions if you would be interested

@@zak8302 yeah 100% get the AG great for both surfaces but I would check out the Superfly 6 and vapor 12 you will get a better boot for your money because they will be on sale. Maybe an elite boot instead of an academy or at least a pro level

Great video mate, thanks for the review. I was considering getting a pair of ag-pro tiempo legend elites for the upcoming season because my team trains on AG and also has home matches on AG. Since they work just as well as FG then it will be great since I can wear them in away matches if the pitch is suitable. Also going to buy a pair of anti clog sg tiempo elites too for the winter months. Ag is definitely the way!

I think you have just made the smartest sole plate decision I’ve seen in a while, one pair of AG for the AG/FG pitches and an anti clog for winter, very solid plan 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. My only advice would be to wait a few weeks before you buy the boots, the new Tiempo legend 8 is due to be released this month or next month, so when it is you will either be able to buy the new model or you will be able to get the legend 7 elite more heavily discounted. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes, White Flyknit is a nightmare!!! White boots generally to be fair but flyknit just seems to hold onto the dirt!!! Glad you like the video, hope it helped you out. I have my superfly lvl ag pro with only flyknit sock but after 2 games collar is unbelivebly hard to clean

Rafal Dull the collar is the hardest bit, the rest of the boot usually has at least a bit of a coating polyurethane or Nike skin, the collar is just exposed Flyknit, makes it a bit of a nightmare.

Overall its a great boot. I can say that it feels nicer on feet than ,,old’’ superfly pro. Feels alteady breaken in. Ag plate feels absolutly great on ag so i am very happy. What do you expect from superfly 7 ? In my opiniom they should be released in Jan 2020 but they will be coming out this summer.

Don't know if you're still replying to these but I had a game on grass and the turf was hard (I was wearing Nike prem pro Fg boots) and my footing was a mess and it just wasn't comfortable. I changed to some astro turfs I had in my bag mid match and the difference was night and day. Do you think I should just continue doing that? I also have an Ag boot (falling apart a bit.. reckon they will break soon) would you suggest using an AG boot on the hard grass surface? Or stick to the astro turf boot? Any suggestions would be helpful (I like a more solid boot as a defender)

Personally I don't like using TF boots on grass because any amount of moisture can cause you to slip. However if you're happy in them you should stick with it for sure. Personally I would probably go AG or HG stud pattern

@@BootWizard HG stud pattern seems difficult to find in UK. Most time I would wear FG but the ground is way too hard, close enough to the hardness of gravel with short grass on top. Maybe I'll attempt an AG boot on it. Thanks for the suggestion
