Nah i would never say that nike lost top athletes and teams. The fact that they have the three greatest players of our generation with Vinicius, Mbappe and Haaland is crazy. The fact that Nike lets old athletes go which end up in the Arab League in a few years anyway is completely understandable. Also signing a contract with the german nationalteam is showing their dominance (here in germany nobody expected that they would take away the partnership from adidas).Nike is doing a lot of other things wrong at the moment but definitely not their marketing with top athletes.

I don’t like Nike, but I actually think they’re staying true to their brand with these moves. Historically they never really picked the stars when they were stars, they’d always pick the up and comers (even with Jordan). And they’re doing the same now with guys like Haaland, Mbappe and Vini, at the very least one of them are gonna be the best of the best in the next few years or so, and they’d rather bank on that future potential than paying way too much on an athlete who is leaving the stage.

Nike no longer wanted Neymar after SA allegations, funny you missed that out. Federer and Kane left only for big money from brands who have no other big athletes on board, no competition (sketchers will never be cool). Adidas have competed evenly with Nike in terms of Football since the 90s, and Puma have all ways had big athletes over the years like Pele, Maradona, Aguero.. your making it sound like every athlete ever was signed to Nike and are now all leaving, which is complete rubbish.

Are u like a nike higher up or sum? The way u out here defending them. Athletes dont want nike cuz just like any other american corporation they take huge advantage of u and cheat u. Just go and ask R9 whom was forced by nike to play in 98 WC final after having a seizure. And your neymar take doesnt make sense when u look at how they kept ronaldo (whom most likely has raped a woman) but not neymar whom had a false allegation against him.

@@dinner7513 Am I some big shot at Nike? Lol, no. I just call out BS when I see it, and this guy’s videos are definitely full of it. But you’re right, there’s plenty of controversy around the ‘98 world cup and tons to criticize Nike for-like their outrageous markups, underpaid labor, and poor product quality. So, there’s really no need for someone to make up stuff like this guy has.

Nike has a chance to tap into a MASSIVELY underserved market. New Balance dipped their toes into the water with wide offerings, but nobody has come out with a truly wide, foot shaped line of shoes and boots. Looking at where Neymar is now it was probably a smart move to not update his contract. That man is playing translator for boxing matches. Nike isn’t doing itself no favours however. Also making its kits so generic isn’t a winning factor either. In the flip side the also sponsor the whole of the nba, nfl. Trust me they will be fine regardless.
