Great review! I did a TON of research on e-paper tablets before buying this one, and I've loved it!!! This checked all my boxes! Color display ✅, backlight ✅, Direct access to the apps I use for writing (google docs, and similar apps) ✅, direct integration with most online drives ✅, no monthly subscription ✅, and access to any reading app I want to read books on! I am a pastor, public speaker, photographer, and reader, and I wanted a device that felt great to write on, something I could preach from (needed a backlight) that had color display for highlights (I use different color highlights in my sermons for different things), something I could read easily on (love that I can do kindle, google books, shonen jump and more), and I love that this device while it can be used for anything definitely limits what you want to use it for, and most of the distracting apps are just not great to use helping this to be the perfect device for me. Thanks so much for your review and have a great day!

I think the best note taking device from Boox right now is probably the Go 10.3. Unless you really, really need a frontlight. But if you use it in well-lit environments, it's the one device that apparently provides a writing experience basically on par with the reMarkable... so I'd really be curious about your opinion on it.

Yes and No, Yes it will narrate the book nicely but not the official professional narrator. TTS engine does a good job if you setup properly. There are many languages and couple of different voices to select for each language. Only down side could be sometimes breaks and commas or numbers read a bit different but you get used to it not very often , you can further tweak how the TTS engine should read it. Good thing it can read any document if you open in NeoReader even PDF pages you took as picture or scanned , I think it must be OCR scanned , means selectable text inside the PDF. Epub works perfect, In fact I have finished a book just by TTS reading to me. When your eyes get sore you can just close your eyes and listen , when it is okay read yourself or together by following. I have Tab Mini C , I am getting bigger real estate for writing which is Note Air 3 C , I absolutely love Tab Mini C for its size and reading but for writing 10.3 " is more suitable. Thanks to KitBetts-Masters , I had found what I was looking for, Now I am waiting its companion better suited for writing than carrying.

In terms of "specifically for taking notes" the BOOX Go 10.3 is definitely more suited for the task. That one eschews the color and glowlight layers for placing the display layer closer to the surface which improves the writing experience by reducing parallax.

Good Video Spencer ! Thanks. I have wanted to use my new IPAD for business meeting Notetaking, but I simply do not like the “feel” on glass even with a PaperLike screen saver. Hence looking at Remarkable 2 or perhaps the Boox 10.3 GO. My goal is for it to replace my paper notebook and then export, link my Notes for long term storage (P.A.R.A) would you look at this device, the 10.3 or Remarkable? - I would use the E-Notebook for Daily business meeting note-taking, journaling, and mind mapping. Goal is for it to be distraction free and simple. I have my IPAD for content and MacBook Air for everything else. I want to have 2 devices plus the IPhone but no go ….. THANKS

I’d say if you want a super focused experience, go with remarkable. There are literally no apps on it, just note taking. If you DO need apps, Boox has full access to play store. I’d personally go for 10.3 if you don’t need color 👍

I was curious about the battery life and if you have a black and white unit to compare to. With multiple pigments, I would assume that each refresh takes that much more battery power, thus a color device would be shorter bettery life in general? Or am I doing the thing that happens when assumptions are made?
@SpencerScottPugh2 ай бұрын
No that's a good question. I can't say for sure whether it takes more battery power to refresh color screens vs black and white, but I can say that compared to reMarkable 2, the BOOX needs to charge more often. There are a lot of factors in that that might affect it though like how many apps are constantly accessing the internet, your battery saver settings, the brightness, etc. Thanks for watching!

I have been using the Air Note 3 during almost six months. It is good for taking notes, drawing and reading (although darker than a black and white e- reader).You can also watch videos like this one. The problem is that browsing works badly in many pages, like e. g. do not expect to be able to book a flight (RyanAir) or use learning platforms like Teachable. Moreover there is a lot of ghosting in videos and movies, so it is not suitable for multimedia.

I've got one for a couple of weeks, and am not particularly impressed. Can't get the original cover, so it came "naked" which makes it quite impractical. The screen is very underwhelming, it has a lot of glare, and the writing experience is not nearly as good as for instance the remarkable 2. It is a plus that you can read books thru apps, and it has lots of options that the remarkable lacks, but the colors are so bland that they barely make any difference when using Notes. Also, the Notes app equivalent on the remarkable is a lot more intuitive IMHO, and closer to actuall paper. Just the fact that you can scroll endlessly and positiion the paper on the screen makes it a lot more usable (you don't have to write on the bottom of the screen). I think most options are both a bit expensive and not totally mature yet (the fully featured notebooks like note 3 and remarkable 2/pro that is).

It seems all Boox noteAir3c reviews are missing one important thing. The battery drainage on the Note3c compared to a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 with S-Pen is about the same, and as this is the case it actually makes an E-ink color tablet fairly pointless. The old NoteAir2 holds the battery much better so there is a gain to use it. The writing surface is more or less the only thing that might be beneficial for having the note3c. I believe many, just as I, want a tablet that will work longer than standard tablets, but this is gone with the introduction of color, an nobody, really NOBODY seems wanting to expose this very vital information; not even you...
@SpencerScottPugh3 ай бұрын
Battery life worked fine for me 😃
@gowk-m5k3 ай бұрын
@@SpencerScottPugh I'll bet it did, but that's not the point. The battery life on my Samsung S6 also works fine. So what's the difference? Well more or less the only reason why your NoteAir3c will have a longer battery life is simply because you use it less for other things. The whole idea with E-ink is mostly to conserve battery, as it only updates when necessary, right? By so, one would expect an E-ink tablet to be able to be on for hours when not used without draining the battery. But this is not the case. Once it's on it chews through that power like a caterpillar on your beloved basil leaves (you can really hear them munch away). So, if you are going on a trip and would take with you one unit (except your phone) that will be able to take notes, read books, send E-mails etc, what would you chose? Well, with an ordinary tablet you can also watch KZbin clips, and what not. If E-ink and OLED screens are more or less the same, and also the underlying OS, it will be quite tough sell to motivate a NoteAir3c. I have ended up running around with both the Samsung tablet, and the E-ink along with a 20'000mAh power bank, just to know I will get through the week and this was not what I had in mind when buying the NoteAir3c...
@SpencerScottPugh3 ай бұрын
@@gowk-m5k this is why I prefer remarkable. I don’t need or want a tablet that can do anything I need it to. I want a focused note taking device that feels like paper and long battery life. I don’t need access to email or other apps, personally. Good points, but idk that MOST people would buy a ln e-ink tablet over an iPad (or similar tablet) if they are going for the most capable device.
