Looks like a great little cocktail. Nice to know you can go stirred or not to stir. It's all about the taste. Cheers my friend. Thanks for sharing.

Very good! Made one for my wife swapping out gin for bourbon, one for me as is. The gin version was better I think, more balanced. With bourbon instead of gin, next time I'll try 1/2 oz apricot brandy (esp. having cheap cloyingly sweet apricot brandy) and add 1/4 oz lemon juice. Probably more balancing out due to my ingredients, not the orig. recipe. Thanks!

That does sound good, I would like to try your version.

The one ingredient I will change immediatly is the Bols apricot brandy. I'm going to use Giffard Abricot du Roussillon. I will also change the Calvados (as I don't have any) to some other apple brandy. I have a few of those.

A great story of this cocktail... I love when you tell the cocktail story. ❤❤❤ This cocktail bested all the other drinks in contention that year, including one called the "Don Bradman," which was named for the famous young Australian cricketer. The first international cocktail competition was hold in London in 1930, while the United States was still in the grip of Prohibition. A small detail, among others... There are many variations on his recipe, as seems to be the case with Walter A. Madigan made the drink without the Calvados în 1929. In the 1930s, the most popular cocktail was the Bloody Mary. It grew in popularity among cocktails in the 1930s during the Great Prohibition. Golden Dawn cocktail seems to be the perfect start to an evening full of promises. P. S Competitions migrated overseas to Great Britain and Europe during the long U.S. Prohibition, and cocktail contests were staged in Paris in 1928 and 1929 and London in 1930. Cocktail competitions have been part of the bar world since the 19th century. The first formal competition of which there is mention reportedly took place in New Orleans in 1869. 🎩🎩🎩

I feel the same way about incorporating the ingredients with a tequila sunrise: why not mix it instead of drinking or wasting all that syrup?! Cheers! 🥂

Very true, when I drink them, I like to mix them, but its all about the presentation.

Another fine libation David, myself I think I'd use Tanqueray for my gin and probably use Cointreau. As for the Calvador's? Idk.. that's a tough one bc i can't get that spirit in Oklahoma. So I'd have to reach out to the viewers here for ANY ( as well as your personal and professional suggestion). So friends, help one out here. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Выглядит так как-будто там не хватает 12,5 мл или 37,5 (я был пьян)))))
