When i think of Hawaii Five-O i always think of the beautiful Hawaiian scenery and that asian female actor playing someones sister in the last version of that TV-show. Seems like a nice cocktail and it is going towards the Tiki season now.

Hey I don't have overproof. At least at this moment. What can I use the best instead and how will it change the taste?
@boozeontherocks2 жыл бұрын
You can just add a little more rum. It wont change the taste much. You will loose the that funk that you get with the over proof.

If you had regular pineapple juice, would you just leave out the simple syrup? Thanks for the vid, blue drinks are the best!
@boozeontherocks2 жыл бұрын
Your welcome. There is no difference between regular pineapple juice and the fresh pressed i used. the only difference is pulp. HOWEVER, make one without simple syrup and try it. you can always sweeten it ip if you feel the need.

This sounds like something I would most definetly like, not too light on the rum as the other is 63%. I noticed you put your cherries in the glass that had more drink, ha ha :-)

This is really good with a bit of a kick, and cherries, absolutely :)
@Rob-dp3vr2 жыл бұрын
A simple 3 ingredient base is blue curacao, rum, and juice. From there, you can get creative and make your own drinks and name them for your guests. For example, blue curacao, rum, pineapple juice, coconut creme, and red mountain dew....bam. delicious drink, and you get a greenish drink. Call it swamp juice, Hulk piss, Green Lagoon, whatever. Other juices you can use, such as lime juice, lemon, peach, pineapple, orange, cranberry, mango, pomegranate, etc. Add grenadine to any of them, and it becomes purple. But the point I'm making is if you just think of clear rum, some kind of juice, and blue curacao you can use that as your base and just get creative from there. And of course, ice. I live in south Florida, and spend lots of time in and around my pool, so I like cold, fruit based, fresh, bright cocktails. I'm not a huge drinker, but after a long week, getting a nice slow rum buzz, sitting in the pool, watching a football game, or a movie on the outside TV is a relaxing time.
@boozeontherocks2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, What are the ratios for your Swamp Juice?
@Rob-dp3vr2 жыл бұрын
@@boozeontherocks I'm far from a bartender in skills, just a home cocktail maker, and live in my pool. With that said, I eyeball it for the most part, but try to measure my alcohol pour. So the drink I mentioned, I use about a half can of red mountain dew. About 4 ounces of pineapple juice, 2 ounces of white rum, probably a table spoon of coconut creme, and a good healthy quirt of blue curacao. Then I shake it in ice, and pour. For guests I garnish it with a lime slice and cherry. For me, I drink it so fast because it tastes good, I don't pour it over ice, and no garnish. The Red mountain Dew gives it a bit of cherry flavor, but also the carbonation touch. I shake all of the ingredients separate from the red mountain dew. I pour the shaken ingredients in with the soda pop. I try to keep all of my ingredients cold, so when I shake with ice, it doesn't water it down and its a cold drink with no ice.

Why don’t you add the alcohol first in this cocktail ?
@finmoneygunx2 жыл бұрын
If you make a mistake its cheapier throw away Lime Juice than booze
@boozeontherocks2 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, @ Moneygunx | Gaming Editor is right. As much as I prefer to add the spirits in first, if you make a mistake you are only out the juice or syrup. Its cheaper that way, and I have been known to make a few mistake lol...

I'm not a drinker, never been, the taste of alcohol and me never matched... But watching these videos and thinking about all the flavors that i've been missing, i feel like at least getting a small home made bar and start trying different things.
@boozeontherocks2 ай бұрын
If you choose to, Start with one bottle and keep it small, that will keep costs down and allow you to experiment with th basics. There are also a lot of non-alcoholic coktails as well.
