This scene has stayed with me for years. I guess we have all been guy in some way. The haunting music by Tom Hiel still sends shivers down my spine.

I thought this ending was a bit murky as to his motivations for killing Dawn. They later made it into a play starring Christian Slater and changed it a little bit. Dawn said that she was going over to see Buddy to tell him that she was going to bring the script to Stella and end her relationship with Buddy. Also, she was going to use the original script without Guy's rewrites. So his motivation to kill her was that he wasn't going to get a producer credit on the film. Buddy of course would go along with this because this film was going to be successful and Buddy would be promoted to President of production over Stella. So in other words Buddy and Guy would get everything they wanted and all they had to do was stick to the story that Dawn was a psychopath, and guy had to killer to save Buddy.

KINDA a Good Point, But still, that does not excuse Buddy's behavior. Just cause some People who are big shot's in hollywood and are cruel abusive Reprehensible Scum that does Not mean its allright. Like Guy said when Buddy said this is how People in hollywood is, "And that makes it allright? well THATS A LOAD OF SHIT!!!" Guy's right. There's NO excuse nor justification for what buddy does.

@@seanmager1168 Why? If we erase Chrisrian morality from our society, then everything is justified for reaching our goals. Society without God, without love and faith comes down to this and as long as you don't get caught, it it's ok to do anything. After all, without God, in modern society everyone has their own morality. Soldiers kill and think they are right, they are heroes. Mobsters kill and they feel they are right, they killed to protect their family, their gang. Maniacs kill cause they hear voices. Nazis also believed they were killing for the right reason. So, why can't buddy? If there is no God and universal morality who is to tell him what he did was wrong? You believe so? But you are not him, you have your own morality and he has his.

@@gn2727 SCREW YOU. THAT. IS DAMN INSANE. buddy is NOT damn "Free" to abuse people. Buddy does not decide whats Right and wrong in the world. Common Sense and Morality DECIDES and DAMN KNOWS what Is TRULY Right. Like guy says in 1 Scene, "And that Makes it allright? BULL!" HE was right. Just cause buddy Know's a Lotta people Spit on and mistreated other's in Hollywood and made it to the top, THAT DONT MAKE IT RIGHT. You are SERIOUSLY INSANE. Like if buddy drove some1 to SUCH SEVERE depression and that person committed suicide, And buddy, If he dont get caught and he got what he wanted, That does not make it allright for other's to do that. So spare me. What buddy did, IS DAMN ABUSE and NOTHING EVER Excuse's it.

The best thing about this scene is that Buddy fully believed he was going to die and was ready for it. In the end he truly cared about saving Guy, even at the cost of his own life. It just turned out that Guy picked a different target, one that didn't ever once put his needs over her desires throughout the film.
@alicetheibault9440

Eh, I'd say it's actually the reverse: Dawn sacrificed herself for Guy, and Guy killed her to protect her from Buddy (since the alternative would be letting Buddy have his way with her, something neither one wanted to see happen).

This is my absolute favorite movie, because everything Spacey says is true. Its real. No is not the best movie ever made. Its maybe a 7 of 10 in the grand scheme of things, but its my absolute favorite. It makes you think, what do you really want, and what are you willing to do to get it.

I would also say that I would recommend this movie to anybody. I loved it and bought a copy of it myself recently which I have already watched several times. It is a good story with many layers to it. The only part I did not like was the ending because it was confusing about what actually happened. You can't point a gun at somebody and fire and then come back and say oh it was Dawn that actually got shot. It might have been better if they had just faded to black before Guy fired or just have done it some other way to confuse the audience in a way that was believable.

Yes, it is a very good movie with deeper themes than just on the surface, just like Office Space is.. Guy makes his choice and sells his soul, sadly enough.. like Buddy said, he could have said, screw this job, I am out of here, but he stayed.. he stayed because he wanted the power, the fame of Hollywood..
@childfreesingleandatheist8899
@childfreesingleandatheist8899 4 жыл бұрын
I don't think it was confusing in any way and I wouldn't change the ending in any way. People assume that Guy fired the shot at Buddy, because he is the one he was talking to. However, when the shooting takes place, we don't see Guy and Buddy together in the same scene. So we really don't know who he was pointing the gun to when he fired.

The current scandals in Hollywood have made this movie Horrifically prophetic. Throughout History wherever you go you will see whether it is a small town or a huge city if there is a lot of money to be made there, there will be a lot of corruption, exploitation, and bad things happening like in the gold mines of the old west in California and Deadwood, South Dakota or in Hollywood, Washington D.C., Wall Street, or Ancient Rome. It's like Shakespeare said in Julius Caesar, "The evil that men do lives after them."
@pikppa

This movie proves that the current Hollywood scandals are not scandals at all. This is how Hollywood have always work, if you want to reach the success a lot of people are happy to buy easy success through either sex or violence. The difference is that now some people wants to be double-stabbing. First they buy that easy success through sex then complain "I didn't want to do it! It was rape!" when the reality is that they are like Dawn, they fucked their way to success.

What many viewers fail to realize is that this movie sets it apart, and will continue to do so for years to come from the majority of most movies. The ending was beautifully executed, no pun intended, by the killing of Dawn, a woman. There is no way that today's blue-pilled, beta's, thirsty simp's producers, who support feminism, would pull this one off again. Here, we clearly see a movie that, colloquially said, puts bros before hos. Today's movies are only about ridiculing and humiliating men. It's all about white-knights catering to women needs, protecting them and giving them all they want. It's all about women's privilige and taking advantage of men.
