what a bloody hard way of doing a spread,over here we use chains set the links put decks up and trip trailer,count then trip truck and dropp trailer when doing truck,so easy backing your trailer over your spread with the deck up is askn for trouble could tip over,a good driver has no big overlaps,but for me u cant beat the botom dumper for perfect spreads,no stability issues,and carry the same or more payloads and a heap quicker turn around time

Once you start tailgating a lot you get used to how high to raise it how fast to go according to how thick you want the gravel there is a little trick to it it’s called experience! I have done a lot of tailgating! The better you are tailgating the less time they spend grading!
@tazzsingh72703 жыл бұрын
Have you ever heard of installing chains to the tailgate they make them for spreading in Canada for building roadways then you can set them to different lengths too adjust product coming out hammer down chains do all the work

I'm not worried about the Kiwi Oz thing but when time is money, spreading chains would speed this up no end, as well as being safer and easier on the trailer. Also the truck didn't seem to have a dual control hydraulic system, where you can keep lowering the trailer, as you raise the truck hoist.

@@philohara2521 that’s why Aussie Graders have a Blade up front (dozer/grader),the added Hrs on machines alone has to eat into profit margines. Spreading with chains has to be more profitable. KZbin Truck and Trailer spreading NZ you’ll see my point.

Why wouldn't chains be allowed? Seems like an odd thing to ban. In the states, we have dump trucks that can spread even layers of gravel for hundreds of foot. If the driver is good, you don't even need a tractor to smooth things out.

Trucks are governed by state laws about how much weight they can have on. This product is apparently dense, while other products are light weight and can fill the whole truck and not be over weight.
@munzy58655 жыл бұрын
BORAL requirements state all tipper hoists must be lowered before moving your vehicle forward. As these units have such a small drawbar this is impossible to do this maneuver without the dog trailer in the lift position.... IMO they are just too fucken lazy to unhook the trailer. BORAL SAFETY is just a load of shit. Wait till one rolls over and this tipping will cease.

You always spread the trailer first otherwise you are pulling a heavy trailer with a light truck and limited traction capability. Somehow he got away with it but if he had a slippery or loose base he would hav e spun out. Always remove the weight from the trailer first. Kids out there, don’t try this at home!
