Passing is awful in this game. You just have to abide by new rules that they set. Your basic ground pass, the bread and butter of real life football, got nerfed into oblivion. Now we have this cheesy lob through ball meta.

Guide for me: LB+Y+Y lobbed through pass magic through pass use instead of normal through pass RB+X driven cross need clear line very fast LB+X lobbed cross no need for clear line over player's heads A+A lofted pass use in box get over defender's legs RB+A driven pass faster than normal pass can one touch pass from this easily

I love this fifa (on old gen). I never had such an easy time on the offensive. I love passing, I play off my footballing IQ. Nice that I don't have to nutmeg spam anymore or cancel skills all the time. It was effective but boring and not satisfying.

L1 Double Tap Triangle is a myth, there is no such pass. You do the usual lofted through pass lol. Even in ingame control description that isn't exist.

Best FIFA in a while! Feels actually really rewarding to score. Sure keepers are good but those saves are real animations from keepers. Last year it was just dirty with those Directional Nutmegs, Bridges and Skill Cancels. Still gets PTST from those awful mechanics. Luckily Pro's can't spam those things anymore. It's actually a proper football game.

I have been practice all this for four matches. No matter what you do, EA pulls it’s bullshit and does stuff like have a striker plow through three of your defenders and blast a goal from 90’ away. Then, you can never get away from the 11th place team playing like ‘59 Brazil and magically pumping in 4 goals against your #1 ranked defense. The fix is always in.

No there is a huge one. Last fifa it was putting in mortal combat combos and now it's about having actual footballing IQ and not pulling your defenders out of position. I always play tiki taka football and this fifa it's truly viable again. You can create so many nice chances by knowing your players move and by knowing when to pass. Also have some creativity in your chance creation. It feels a lot more satisfying this year. I finally can stop spamming cancels, skill moves, nutmegs, la croquetas and so on..

@@matty6171 Not really. Back in Fifa 12/13 Skillers were seen as dudes that do cool skill compilations but aren't the most effective. Like Kazooie for example. Skill moves should be and (were) an ADDITION to the foundation of the game. A nice placed skill move can give you a chance out of nowhere but it should not be THE way to create something on offense. And it was like that in the past. After 17 it went downhill tho. So it's nice to see a fifa that goes back to it's roots more (football) and actually rewards having IRL footballing IQ.
