We were in NSW and things were not looking good so decided come back to Victoria and as we had only been on Orange Zones that was ok. At 5.30pm on the 29th june at around 100km north of Parkes i turned on the radio and heard that Victoria would change the rules at 1AM on the 30th of June. Checking web sites and such it seemed that the orange zones would change to red at 1AM and you would not be allowed into Victoria unless you quarantined for two weeks. After consulting travel times on google maps it looked like we could make it to the river by 1AM. Normally i would not drive at night on a busy Highway full of trucks and other dangers but to avoid a two week quarantine or stay in NSW we had to rush at 110km/h all the way. On reaching the border before the cut off time it was found that it was completely un manned and not even any signs to indicate anything but normal. The risk of death or injury of this rushed trip was far more than from the virus and we had seen a fatal accident earlier that afternoon. In the end it was for nothing as no one was checking.
