Visit To Old Abandoned Homestead After 50 Years

Lived there for 6 months in 1972 and have gone back on a regular basis to document the decay. From some of the papers i found there i think the Family were called "Wall". They must have had a basic life as things like broken crockery was glued up instead of being replaced.

I get melancholic at scenes like this. I think of those lives, probably all forgotten, that lived in such places and tried to make a living. But life moves and and circumstances change. People die or move on, and such places are abandoned. I think of the unknown histories that those places experienced, and now all disappearing to the elements. Certainly I will be forgotten when I go. Sometimes others come along and plunder anything useful left behind, or punks come just to destroy things.
