Canadian here. I've had mine for over a year. It's still in the box. I've watched Nigel's channel on his build of it so far. I am very pleased to now being watching your build videos. Both of you have pointed out the glaring mistakes in the instruction booklet, which will save a lot of people who are yet to attempt their Lanc. Outstanding work so far

WOW!!! I wish Wingnut Wings would have been around to finish that project. I believe it was in the quality assurance phase of development, and I can only imagine what it should have been. I'm not saying it isn't impressive, I think Border just took what was there, and ran with a partially complete project. On that note, I think you are doing an amazing job with it! Can't wait to see more, eagerly awaiting the engine mountings. Very much looking forward to the next update! "It's a good day for modeling!" Indeed it is!!

yes it’s a great shame - at least if WW had done the instructions it would have been a great step up for the kit. We’ll battle through though 👍

I made the nose kit and found it a bit of a a handful. The canopy inner-frame and transparencies are VERY delicate and only respond well to a very gentle hand. All in all the level of detail is astounding. The complete kit, in Canada, approaches $1,000.00, which is a little steep for my bank account, to say the least. Plus, the finished size makes it almost impossible to display in our smallish condo. Hence my delight at watching a master-modeller complete the job.
@TheModelShed2 ай бұрын
Thank you Ron I’m very wary of all the transparencies now. This one is being built for someone else so I don’t have the display problem😀

Great built...needless to say that it's very professional! The model, even with all his difficulties, is a great one! I am confident that a masterpiece is coming out there with you! With the rain sound you also obtained a nice background atmosphere, very peaceful and relaxing, perfect for modelers! Looking forward for next episodes!

Thanks for the feedback. A lot of people like the rain on the roof finding it relaxing as you say and also the birdsong. It’s a good atmosphere to concentrate on model building

I have the Dam Buster kit and Border have included a whole new sprue of clear parts beautifully clear with no imperfections, wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a small cardboard box. They have also included another sprue of clear parts which came with the standard bomber version and these look nice as well.
@TheModelShed2 ай бұрын
Yes thanks Tim I got the new sprue from Albion the UK importers. It’s a big improvement.

Such a challenge indeed, we are lucky to have this model kit available to build and watch being built by our benevolent host and other hobbyists. I too have the nose kit in my stash LOL and have had the privilege of walking through the real thing in Hamilton Ontario Canada. Cheers!

Good video I believe my 2025 bill is going to be this plane. I have been researching the assembly ships and might do a half assembly ship half original bomber paint job. It’s gonna drive me nuts with the painting schemes between the two sides, but I think it’ll look cool when it’s all said and done. I jumped right to part five of your series but will go back and watch the others so far so good excited to see the rest of the build.

Excellent Video Steve, the detail on this kit is outstanding, and the fit is so precise, model companies need to sort out the short falls with the instructions, there's nothing worse than following the steps only to realise that the manufacturer skipped ahead, and now you are doubling back to see if it was something you did wrong...
@TheModelShed2 ай бұрын
It’s frustrating John because it shouldn’t be too hard to get these things right. I can’t understand how if the company had people test building the kit they wouldn’t draw attention to the errors.

Hi , I noticed in this episode that you mentioned that in the next episode you are going to put in the ribs of the bomb bay , please be advised these ribs are highly delicate & doesn't take much to brake them , part number Q1-16 x 50 expect a few of them to brake , not to tell you what to do but it would have been better to work on them while the bombay was still out you will see by the part that it is meant to be fit by segment by segment , the instructions are not much help , please be very careful at this point & good luck

I would have to think twice before buying one for myself that’s for sure. Not so much on cost grounds but it just takes up too much space.
@Garywolff8842 ай бұрын
@@c123bthunderpig it is expensive. However you could look at this another way. It is so big and complex it is like building 6 £100 kits. It will take the same amount of time. It is just the initial outlay that is expensive but when you spread that over the months it might take to build…
