Your build inspired me to get my Lancaster out of the stash and start it. However, i pressed on and have now finished it. Had the same issue with the fit of that bulkhead -managed to get them on somehow but of course the engine covers where then much more difficult to fit. I didn't realise that additional bulk head was needed - i should have waited and kept pace with your video build ! I also had trouble with the fit of the radiator covers and had also planned to leave one of the engines open but gave up in the end as the instructions to build them are just too vague. Final problem was the decals, which just fell apart. Luckily i had some aftermarket ones which helped. Its an impressive model when finished and also very difficult to handle with all that size and weight ! I look forward to your final build - all the best.

Lots of fantastic information on this build. As always another learning experience. Not sure I'll ever buy and or build the Border Lancaster. The Lancaster is really a beautiful aircraft. It is also very tight on the inside. The wing spars actually run through the fuselage and is quite challenging to climb over. I have had the opportunity and pleasure of visiting and crawling around the inside of "Vero" at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton Ontario Canada. I will never for get this experience.

Thanks , I’ve checked my instructions and the inner bulk head missing part is not mentioned , also not mentioned on the scalemates pdf , and it’s not even mentioned on the later dam buster version either . So a really good find on that , already made a note on the sections in the instructions .

Initially, Wingnuts deliberately designed the outer wing panels to be removable, it's a shame that the Border rendition is going to make that impossible.

I’ve also looked through my sprues , and the missing parts in the instructions are K-13 x2

🎉🎉 nice work on this so far. I’m joining a group build for heavy bombers on February 1st. I have a 1/35 B24 liberator that I’m deciding what to replicate. Either an assembly ship or doing some modifications and building out one of your RAF anti submarine units with the rocket racks. 😂.

Regarding the totally inadequate Border instructions - there's no need for Border to do what they should have done in the first place - you've done it for them. Not only is your KZbin series the definitive assembly guide - it's visual! Along with the commentary thrown in for free. No excuses now for any assembly mistakes. Concerning the glue/no glue outer decision on the outer wing panels - I intend to not glue them. No display space. I intend to glue the inner wings to the fuselage and leave the outer wings removable.

Great catch on those firewalls, I checked my instructions and they were not mentioned at all.

Border made no investment in the molds.... It was all wing nut.... And all of borders kits have god awful instructions and they have terrible parts locationspots.... As a Kiwi I am very disappointed that Wingnut sold these molds to Border.... Academy /Tamiya /Hasagawa.... Those are the only companies that should produce this kit

Additionely, Border is worst brand regarding instruction. And if it’s not a big issue regarding tanks it’s inacceptable for planes. Every planes for Border are a nigthmare to build by instructions , bad info , no info , nothing … And at the pricing point of your Lancaster is inacceptable Bon courage
