I want to applaud these border patrol agents for putting their lives at risk doing this type of job. There will be times when these agents encounter childrens with there parents by there side trying to cross the border. And there will be times when they encounter gun battles with bad actors, typically cartel members or "coyotes" trying to smuggle narcotics. So much unpredictability with this line of work. Thank you ICE for doing all that you guys can to protecting the borders while conducting at the highest standards with professionalism and respect.

One video a few days ago shows border patrols went to a private land and unlock a gate that was just locked with permission from landowner to let illegal immigrants that was outside the gate.

I am Assistant Commandant from India's Border Security Force. We patrol borders along Pakistan which has diverse terrains like deserts, salt marshes, cold mountains, swamps and forests. Its indeed a challenging job. Huge respect to BPA.

The money in actually great for CBP. Agents and Officers journeyman to GS 12 which means that before becoming a supervisor, you can make over $100k a year plus great benefits, and it only takes about 4-5 years to get to that pay grade from being hired.

Nothing a coat wont fix, and i agree with you, quite a bit of difference in the North vs say Yuma, Havasu, Phoenix. I have been lost in a forest once and it’s not hard to do. Luckily after walking for hour’s I found a road that I recognized and made it home. Had I walked just a mile west I would have been screwed! It happened in Oregon in 1985.

I had similar situation in Germany was there with my parents in the forest on holiday, but we got lost for about 7 hours glad it wasn't that hot.

Yea, I was also lost once in the desert outside Vagas for 2 days. Just like on the ocean., it all looks the same in every direction. This was long before phone/GPS. Good thing some guys were out on dirt bikes. At 9:00 a.m. it's already 120 degrees. Tring to suck water from a cactus isn't easy. A long sobering walk I'll never forget.

I think I am glad I did not join the border patrol after leaving the military service and working as a security consultant overseas. I would not be able to work for an administration that has completely reverse the mission of the border patrols. America will fall from within
