I passed by a couple of these purple box vids thinking they were the same for some reason. Glad I finally looked at this one. Every time I run arms race I am looking for COV weaponry. Their pistols and ARs all the way down are top class

One small detail i like about COV guns is that some of the pistols and AR's parts are not only from diferent types of guns but also some of the barrels are from guns from BL2 (the splainer has the BL2 jackobs barrel and ratataer BL2 torgue barrel as a barrel accesory) if you look carefully not only really giving the sense (and fact) that this guns are made out of scrap but also that weapon tech evolved so much in the pace of 7 years that the BL2 weapons became obsolite and the returning legendaries being only recreations and not the original ones (wich that can justify why some legendaries chaged of manufacture if not the type of gun).

Love this series, the non-uniques dont get enough vids about them. BL3's uniques are really fun, especially the grenade mods. Hope to see more soon.

From what I understand, the amount of ammo CoV weapon uses per shot actually increases the heat buildup per shot. So, x3 ammo per shot is very much NOT recommended at all because it'll heat up the gun really quickly. x2 is a nice balance between ammo economy and damage. Ignore this if you have ammo regen because ammo cost is less of an issue at that point. Also, for CoV ARs, GET THE HORIZONTAL GRIP ATTACHMENT. Seriously, it helps to make the guns much more stable whether it be firing from the hip or aiming down their sights. Little fact: Sheega over in the Devil's Razor always drops a Zooka that has x4 projectiles but at no additional ammo cost. It has fixed parts too and I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be a unique CoV launcher but never got a name or anything of the sort.

I'm pretty sure Sheega's launcher isn't actually a scrapped unique, but simply some wacky coding that's causing her to drop the AI-barrelled variant of the Zooka. Enemies have specific barrels for some of their guns, notably COV launchers, which is why when they fire them they function far more standardly.

There's an interaction with Moze and CoV weapons: when held, with Forge specced in, since it regenerates based on 'mag' size, and CoV doesn't have a true mag, it just uses the full ammo count as the mag. Meaning, AR, Pistol, and Launcher ammo generates blindingly fast (well, not so much Launcher, but it's still noticeably improved) on her, making her REALLY not care about ammo.

This is actually a pretty common misunderstanding of the interaction. It works off the "Shots to Break" stat, not total ammo pool. On average though, it's a pretty large increase vs other manufacturers simply due to the shots to break averaging higher than many mag sizes.

Ah the COV launchers, one of the worst weapon type in the history of Borderlands. They are as shitty as Bandit ARs and Pistols in BL2, which is saying something, those were garbage I would also like to add that COV pistols (mainly the Holey Man) are together with Maliwan pistols my favourite weapons in Arms Race, they just shreds!

Getting any x2 COV gun in arms race honestly feels more broken for mobbing than even Tediores during their peak. For sure especially the pistols as those even shred Harker pretty damn good.

In both games they've been in, alien barrel weapons are massive disappointments for their rarity. Devs seem to be terrified of making them even arguably better than their purple counterparts. With exceptions to the topnea and...... Yeah I think that's it.

For quite some time the Carbuncle was fucking amazing. I got one during my first playthrough just before Athenas and it carried me almost all the way to Tyreen. It was only after Mayhem 2.0 that it started to be pretty bad, which is really unfortunate as it's one of my favorite non-uniques probably ever. Still damn good for story pushing though.

The torgue Alien barrel pistols are great and the plasma casters in bl2 are great but besides that i get what your saying. Also alien barrel guns are for some reason classes as E tech in bl3 so yea😂
