Another note: If you finish all the missions in the Dahl Headlands before going to New Haven and (I farmed DH there a little first after finishing) the golden chest in New Haven will give you a current level legendary of the one you got at the beginning. I kept the mugshot when I heard about that and sure enough I got the current level version in New Haven. I did not open the chest right away and did a few things first and yep when I used it there was the new mugshot but I didn't keep the other legendary and I did not get an upgrade on that one.

Awesome video, didn't even realize I needed this until you provided it :D Really great extensive breakdown of what the weapons do, the rest is for the player to make most out of them. And to answer to the question... Shotgun! I haven't tried the rocket launcher, but from the rest, shotgun was an easy win, being a solid backup to almost any class up to New Haven with ease :)

Morale of the story; Bonehead is one tough SOB. I haven't been able to purchase Borderlands remastered yet but I do have the prequel and BL2, so in theory I should be able to receive the loyalty thing. Thumbs UP boss! ;)

I’m on the Nintendo switch playing borderlands I’ve beaten Borderlands 1,2 and the pre-sequel and have never gotten 2 legendary gun in borderlands 1 for the loyalty rewards

I like the shotgun the most. I had good luck with the sniper and launcher as well, but the shotgun really does a lot of damage.

I found the Mugshot to be outstanding. I picked it up at some point in Playthrough 1 and was still using it well into Playthrough 2. The damage was very high and it just destroyed enemies at that mid range distance. There were times I decided not to use it because of how easily bad guys were going down. I haven't used the Hive Mind rocket launcher yet but it actually looks somewhat effective.

Hey MajorSlack I only began watching your vids at Farcry 5. In the past, I usually only watched vids for a quick bit of gameplay when unsure of a purchase. However, more recently, even though I no longer work, have few responsibilities and all the time in the world to play, I'm simply physically unable at times. This is extremely frustrating, especially considering the fact that these are the times I am usually most in need of the distraction. That's where you come in. You've been a sort of savior in these situations. The combination of your style of gameplay/walk through and your being quite entertaining provide me with the needed distraction and allow me to feel almost as though I am actually playing. And now on to the homework assignment. I am always Mordecai and prefer snipers, pistols and to a lesser degree, shotguns. I wasn't overly impressed with any of the Gearbox offerings. Lastly, I've owned all of the Borderlands games on Steam for years and received neither the two starting Legendaries, nor the 75 Golden Keys. At the time of installation, only BL2 was installed and I knew nothing of Shift until after I'd played thirty minutes or so. I began researching at that point, set up Shift, uninstalled BL1 GOTY Enhanced (deleted save), played BL2 awhile, installed and played Pre-Sequel and original BL1 GOTY awhile each then reinstalled BL1 GOTY to no avail; no starter Legendaries and no Golden Keys. The only change was that I received three Golden Keys for Pre-Sequel and five for BL2 in Shift. I wound up resorting to finding and entering codes to obtain 20 Golden Keys and using a method that returns the keys after closing and restarting the game in order to try out a few of the new Legendaries. Pardon the novel post, but I rarely ever post to any vids and felt the need to provide both descriptive praise and the detailed technical explanation. My thanks for the quality vids and for caring enough to keep us from getting Whacked!

Well if you have them all and played them all on Steam that means 'previously installed'. Doesn't matter if you uninstalled them. :)

I haven't seen these early game but I did pick up the level 18 baha's bigger blaster. It did 96x9 damage and I carried it all the way to the Destroyer.

I didn't know about the shift account, I have all the games....recently got the borderlands remastered, though I already played it in the 360, thank you for the info....by the way, I'm recently watching your Borderlands 2 Zero walkthrough....later I want to see Maya...though I'm playing with Axton.

I have gotten all of the gearbox legendary weapons and the 75 keys, I have every borderlands game but I have only borderlands 2 installed and I have a shift account. So to summarize you definitely need a shift account and one of borderlands games installed (I.e. borderlands 2 or borderlands pre sequel)

I get 2 legendarys and play "BL New" on the same machine I played BL1, 2, Tales and Pre-Sequel. An old machine but works fine, must upgrade for 3.

I've played all the borderlands games on Xbox 360, ps3, and ps4. However, on this particular ps4 I haven't played the other games. I logged on to find that I had 75 gold keys. I haven't started a new playthrough to test if I have the legendaries yet, but I will when I get home. I don't remember creating an account for anything either...

Ok so here's my problem. I've played every borderlands game but they've been on different Xboxes because of well "life" will the loyalty still be in affect or will I have to play them all again on my current xbox

Go through the following check list: 1. Make sure you downloaded and installed Borderlands GOTY Enhanced (it must be Game of the Year ENHANCED, not just Game of the Year). You should have gotten it for free if you had the original Borderlands installed. 2. Sign in to your SHIFT account and it should update with Gearbox Loyalty Reward notification on the SHIFT account screen (as per the video).

Have to disagree regarding Mugshot....used it for the whole first playtrough, used it to kill the Destroyer. Even with it's limited mag, it works magic against every single enemy. But then again I don't rush in to take on tough quests. The rest of the weapons...meh. Don't like snipers without elemental effects, since I suck at crit shots with a controller.

The Violence is my favourite with Baha's bigger blaster a close second. The rest of them are just really mediocre. The Silent night is okay but with that 1.8x Zoom, you just have to be too close to the target for it to be an effective sniper rifle, the same problem that affects around 99% of sniper rifles in BL1 really, I rarely find one that goes beyond 1.0 or 1.5 x the zoom and that's useless for getting critical headshots at anything more than about 5 - 10 feet away from your target
