Not guarenteed legendary. I just got a purple shield after about 25 grinds. So it is a low chance but you can get a purple grinding 3 legendaries.

So, now we can get a Bulwark at level - if we're willing to farm vendors for two days to get three leg. shields (at level) we don't want. BL2 farming could get frustrating sometimes, but migud it was better than this. Looking for that lovely orange glow as an item of the day just isn't Borderlands, it's a failed experiment.

sondrethomassen98 IN BL2 as well. However, it wasn't exactly the best and most reliable way to get unique gear. In TPS, grinding Thingys and farming vendors is frequently the *only* way to get certain unique gear at max level for those of us who don't want to use Gibbed.

Yup I agree. Think the idea people owe us fans a big ass soooorrryyyy. No farming, can only grind weapons. Now after a patch some if it gets changed, did ANYBODY who jelped make this game not play bl2 or at least TALK to somebody that did. I feel this game to be a work in progress as it is short for a full price game and lacking in many areas. 3/10 which is not good as bl2 I thought was a 10/10. How can they have got it soooo wrong. Jesus ask the questions on the gearbox forums before releasing the game ffs. I think if I had a demo to try before I bought I doubt I would have. Cash cow muvh

Strictly speaking I don't think there's anything wrong with trying new directions for the franchise. TPS is much more story-driven, and the writing is more detailed. What they should have done was to call it a side installment, drop the '887-bazillion guns' hype and be upfront about a number of changes. Their failure to do so has disappointed a lot of people, giving TPS a worse rap than it deserves. Just MO.

first attempt, i grinded 3 purple pistols and when the grind was done i got a legendary scav pistol called Kwik-Smart Sim, later i tried several times with skeleton keys, it is possible to get legendary from 3 similar wepons, i dont think its a high chance but its possible, didnt take a screenshot because i didnt have a key binded to that

There's also the recipe with 3 rocket launchers giving you a guaranteed rocket launcher. It probably works with legendaries with the update. And that means you're guaranteed the same rarity or one tier up as well. Orange being the highest, means grinding all legendaries gives you a guaranteed legendary. That's without moonstone.

Didn't know you couldn't use 2 legendaries and 1 purple class mod, shield, oz kit for legendaries before the patch. However, why exactly would you want to use 3 Thingies over 2 Thingies and moonstones? Assuming you're just farming for Thingies you're likely going to get 2 and the moonstones required for the grind before getting 3 Thingies.

That's how the grinder always worked(not with legendaries, but bear with me...). For most things, you have to have all 3 of the same item type, and they definitely have to be the same rarity. Each grind is always guaranteed to be that rarity or one tier up. Moonstone grinds are always one tier up. Same rule for all gear with the exception of the orange-orange-purple, and a few other things like making assault rifles with smgs, snipers and shields... There are some recipes that don't make a lot of sense. Lol.
