By the way, as he was saying, you don't ALWAYS get legendaries, but that's only if you do a regular grind. To get a legendary every time, make sure you Moonstone grind. Gives a legendary 100% of the time.

Another way to get legendary guns and moonstones if your not quite up to killing iwajira is you can fight red belly, he drops a legendary shotgun sometimes and will always drop at least 10 moonstones, plus you can kill him easily starting around level 9

The way I remember what the combo is to think POO (purple,orange,orange)

I grinded 3 purple weapons and ended up with a legendary sniper (luck) and also grinded 3 purple shields to get the Fox trotter (also luck). From there I duped the legendary sniper solo with split screen and ended up with 4 of the same legendary snipers. I grinded three of them to get another legendary, duped the new one to get three more, grinded it to get other legendaries, etc. So now I ended up with 5 legendary guns in one day when I previously had none :) Farming for legendaries got me nowhere so Im grateful for the grinder.The Zx-1 is honestly my favorite! I'll continue tomorrow.

i find that the best method for me is to farm the final boss for moonstones and three purple weapons of one type, e.g. three purple pistols. this has worked well so far

BL2 legendary farming was very... monotonous and specific. I prefer the new method but maybe they should add some kind of "authentic loot modifier" that guarantees that a boss dropped legendary always is a bit stronger than crafted ones. 10%?

Maybe not all legendary are in the list of the grinder, but only the one that aren't boss specific.

I wouldnt really consider this to be too strong. yes its a guaranteed Legendar but it still is a Random Legendary of that Type, not to mention if you are going for GG stats on the weapons (which at endgame you generally are) this random chance isnt going to be as useful as just farming for the weapon you want specifically. I'd say for leveling it is useful, but not endgame strong.

You can redo any weapon grind on pc by closing borderlands with task manager, so you can use the same three weapons repeatedly.

Mmm, I'm not too far in to the game but it seems like an interesting concept. I think it's a good idea for getting blue and purple items. Not sure about the creation of legendaries though. On the one hand, it's an alternative to farming. Some legendaries in BL2 have been known to be a pain in the ass to farm form. I guess only time will tell.

I tried to use the grinder with the same configuration you used here except all purple items so 2 purple rocket launchers and one purple pistol and I simply can't grind it. Both the grind and moonstone grind options are blacked out and I've tried dozens of other recipes and none of them are working... I still don't understand the relationship between a weapons level, gun damage stat and it's rarity. The legendary pistol you get here is less than the guns you currently had equipped - the one legendary gun I got also had less damage. So what's the great about legendary guns if they have worse damage and sometimes other worse stats?

Legendaries often have 'hidden' abilities, hinted at by their red flavor text. Some legendaries are purely for fun, others are very useful. The useful legendaries will be useful for 5+ levels, before more common guns beat them. Just remember that the stats aren't the only thing about legendaries; Try them out to see what kind of crazy stuff they do.

I had read online that a patch had been released to increase loot drops for this game and decided to farm the legendary launcher. Killed this boss for an entire day and no launcher. Kept getting some blue assault rifle that acts like a grenade launcher and had red lettering in description. The rifle really sucks.

I have Reogenator and Rubberized Storm Front, but as I try to mix it up with a purplr sniper rifle, I can't grind it. It might be because of the fact that it's a grnade mod and shield, but they're still legendary though.

There is a new update patch for the grinder and you can grind three legendary grenades or shields also you can use purple as well but it has to be three of the same color.

how about grenade mods and sheilds? tried to do it and it did not seem to work. but i have noticed that there is a level limit between the grinded items. like a 33, 33, and 37 items will not work, but a 33, 33, 34 or 31 works fine so you still have to beet the "secret raid boss" hehm (he is listed in the bad ass rank)

But hey after all, one of my favourite things in this game is the loot system, I always feel like I can actually use use money, moonstone, and even weapons! In BL2 you really didnt use the stuff that always dropped, but I loot feels so awesome in this game! :D Even the weapon vendors are awesome, and the prizes are fair! I feel like this game is really really really huge awesome expansion patch/feature patch for Bl2 AND I LOVE IT

This recipe is not working for me on PC. However the legendaries are level 48 and 49 so I wonder if that is the issue. I tried it with a level 48 thingy and 48 excaibastard and it didn't work so I figured it was because excalibastard is found. Latest try was with a 48 thingy and 49 thingy. Still wont give me the option to grind.

I dunno how to do this right, I thought if you put in three items of the same rarity and same type you get one back, I added three purple sniper rifles in and it wouldnt let me grind but i put in three green assault rifles and it worked fine they were all the same level too

ZiggyD Gaming it might have been a different mix but i followed your legendary way with 2 of one color and one of another with the type of weapon i wanted and i got a basic purple sniper rifle I'm fairly sure I used 2 blue assault rifles and one purple sniper rifle which had good stats and ended up with better dmg but no extras

I just use 3 Bitches, grind them, and just hope for the best result. I go with the Fatale since it's pretty easy and quick to farm, I managed to get like 5 in less than one hour.

The boss in normal mode will always be lvl 30 but in Ultimite vault Hunter mode he'll scale to your lvl.Also no because the grinder won't let you do that
