This dlc is a depressing version of magical slaughter the "new" guns are terrible all across the board ive been hit by audio visual lag within the dlc and as soon as i leave it goes away. There one new enemy. And onoy one boss that returns and out of four times of killing knuckle dragger i got 2 nukems. This dlc feels poorly executed. And poorly made musics not even a remix its as stated tooken from eleseer. Most of this dlc you look for enemys rather then being in constant fights its just horrible for me ill rate it 3 out of 10 and recommend that it is not purchased unless the player has the season pass. Im sad to see them do this to borderlands.. :'(

I feel that floating circle in the middle would have been the perfect size. Just tweak it a bit, like sometimes a platform could rise from underneath and fill in the hole in the middle, and at set times a boss could drop down and shatter a part of it causing you to get less and less space. There was so much potential. Also surprised the Scavs riding Kraggons didn't make an appearance. They would have been perfect!

Got it this morning. Played it and I feel your right on the mark man. It reminds me of them underdome in the first borderlands. You play through it and the rewards are so so. I'm a die hard BL fan and expect great things from the game but what i ask is "what was made to change the game". I mean at least the underdome it introduced the bank which changed how you dealt with loot in BL1. Borderlands laid a foundation of a great game. Dr Ned allowed you to unload on multiple easy to find enemies (possibly to let out rage on how disappointing the destroyer was lol). Moxxie gave us the bank. Knoxx gave a great story great end game and of course Cromerax. And clap trap gave us boss fights, a loot room and I enjoyed killing all those CL4P-TP units (I'm not the biggest claptrap fan) BL2 improved from there with an unforgettable story line and smooth game play and six classes that were clearly different in skill trees. And more enemies than you could imagine except no scythids. Scarlet had descent end game but it did let us know that all DLCs will have a raid boss which is a change. Torgue did not do much but it did introduce a concept of only the strong survive something that can be clearly seen in tales of the borderlands game. Hamerlock added witchdoctors capable of making those around him stronger something we see with orcs in Tina's and eternials in BLPS. Tina's gave us chests that could be opened with eriduim for chance at great loot leading to moonstone chests. Head hunters showed they can do seasonal specials and plan to do more in the future. BLPS changed the fighting style with oz kits something that can be changed to jet packs or something in the future. But holodome has not brought anything new to the table, not just for BLPS but the franchise as a whole. I'm disappointed deeply but i care about the brand to much to give up on it now. I look forward to the future as well as the next chapter in tales of the borderlands.

My girlfriend and I love TPS, it's actually our favorite Borderlands game so far due to the improvements it has over 1 (story, mic quality, and frustrating damage reduction by level) and 2 (lackluster final chapter, and UVHM being a massive slag worshipping bullet sponge) but the small size does feel a smidge like a deal breaker. I believe that Gearbox is just making a small little mistake with underestimating the lack of content the game has in comparison with 2, but we shouldn't keep acting like they are ignoring or hating us: >If the were ignoring us, we would still have 4x health UVHM with health regeneration forcing us to Worship Cryo damage. >If they did hate us they would have made nothing and let us wait 3+ years for Borderlands 3. This game gave me hope for the franchise that UVHM of the last game damaged, so I have hope that the DLC campaign they have planned for this game will make up for their screw-ups. :)

You pretty much nailed it. I know it's 2 years later. I bought it for the extra levels on my skill tree. Still 10 bucks, still the same Holodome. Remembering the curtains opening for the bosses that showed up on Moxxi's Slaughterdome from BL1, sigh, they could have done something like that here. Random boss from the game comes in to wipe you out. If it were me... I would have had a light show and the boss dropping in right in the middle lowered in on a platform, or something. And respawning chests would have been good too.

I actually think the T4S-R (The pistol that somehow went untalked about) is the best weapon from this dlc. I just can't play through the campaign again (I have 3 level 50 characters so that would be 3 more playthroughs of the exact same story) esp with the reduced experience.

Gearbox said that it would solve many in game issues that we have. Making Flameknuckle farmable doesnt mean that you solved all our issues. sure you can farm Nukems and grind them now, but lets see how long it takes them to nerf his drop rates and any enjoyment we had with the game. Come on gearbox. Everyone is going back to borderlands 2 so they can play the Wattle Gobbler dlc because it isnt Pre-sequel. People would rather get trolled by Terramorphous and get knocked off the cliff upon entering his arena. Make enemies respawn and you dont have to come up with this holodome bullshit. Everyone with a season pass couldnt even download the holodome, and maybe it was a premenition for us all not to play it.

For some reason when I went to the Holodome my shield got glitched so it wouldn't go done and I didn't take any damage. SO I was able to get all the achievements on one go without even trying. So I got to say it was pretty boring with having to trying to find enemies that were hiding but I got to love it for the glitch that made me invincible!!!

Thank you Bahroo. I logged 110 hours of pre-sequel the first week or two of launch and I couldn't find a reason to keep playing. Even vanilla BL2 had Terra farming which was fun, even for the 300+ times cause it was an enjoyable fight. I'll keep watching what you put up. I feel sorry you had to buy this dlc and play it, but I'm very thankful that you're warning other people not to waste their money on this. The worst part I feel about this dlc is that people will HAVE to get this if a legitimate endgame is added with a amazing dlc. so it'd basically be paying 20 bucks to play 1 dlc because honestly I never see myself touching this one. Having never really been a fan of slaughter domes, I have to say that I actually had high hopes for this one. There was an expectation of perhaps having many of the non-respawnable unique enemies appearing giving players the chance to get at their loot. No. There were the new weapons and enemies, which were welcome but not really up to scratch. As you said, the size of the area was completely unnecessary, I was also hunting around for the last enemy of each wave. And what was the point of the huge entrance area? The mods got me excited when I first saw one, but after looking at the skills it appeared that they had been slapped together at random. Synergy is elusive... A part I love about borderlands is the writing, and the storyline was amusing and I was happy with that, as sparse and brief as it was. Could they not have just had the waves of enemies be representative of the main story? This could have been the pre sequel condensed into an hour or two, instead of just being a shooting gallery for Dahl troops and guardians. It pains me to say it, as I'm sure it does everyone who loves borderlands, but this was not what we expected, it was not what we wanted, and not what we deserved. Bahroo, if there was a contest for hitting nails on their heads, you would win with a giant hammer. Which would probably be more effective at killing things than the new guns...

The oxygen bubbles are important. They provide atmosphere which allows you to ignite enemies, they allow you to O2 revive your allies no problem, and they affect some O2 kits.

I liked it at first . When it first came out it was great. Until they started nerfing things and not fixing things was when I seen the troubles starting. The only time we get patches, is when a DLC is about to hit. Those patches fixes. They could delay the DLC to fix the bugs put in farmable bosses issues the fans complain about but they're to worried about their cash grab scheme to fix the real issues in the game.

In regards to what's off, I've been doing some exploring, and I think it's the lighting. I feel like 2K AU was trying to make a somber, more depressing game, so the lighting is almost always much darker than at any point in BL2. Pay attention to it the next time you play. I feel like it definitely creates a more depressed, saddened mood.

I don't really know how high the damage is that the boxxy does to you, however i have an idea for how it might be useful. On Athena, there is a skill that increases your melee damage after you shoot someone. So with the boxxy, you can shoot someone, reload, take the boxxy's damage and drop your Shooting Star, then massacre someone with a well placed melee. Could this be a plausible thing?

Two points I want to make: 1) I found the Sky Rocket shotgun to be quite effective against unarmored targets (Although the fire rate is pretty bad) 2) I believe the Boxxy only explodes when you reload prematurely. I didn't test it thoroughly, but every time I emptied the clip, it didn't explode. Now for my thoughts This DLC wasn't that great. If I didn't own the Season Pass, there's no way I woulda bought it. I kept waiting for something awesome to happen at the end of each round, something having to do with the story. Maybe Zarpedon shows up, or maybe the destroyer's eye appears in the middle of the arena and you have to fight it. Everything just sort of felt half-assed. There's barely anything new. Gonna have to go with Bahroo on this one; this is a $5 dlc at MOST.

I disagree with you because the Cry Baby doesn't have the really slow reload that Bandit/Scav Assault Rifles usually have, and the T4s-R is basically an automatic version of the Cyber Eagle with Hyperion's crit damage boost and accuracy increase, and I think it can spawn in any element as well. I do agree that the Boxxy Gunn and Party Line suck. Haven't gotten the other weapons yet since I still need to complete round 5. Also, Powersuit Felicity does sometimes drop stuff. She dropped a couple green weapons for me today. She probably just has a low chance to drop anything.

As somebody who got bl2 free with psn plus and played the hell out of it until my shit expired, should o get destiny which was my most hype game of 2014 until i played the beta which really bored me and didnt play more than 2 hours of it, or should i get bl the pre sequel?

if you got bored of the destiny beta within 2 hours then i suggest you don't buy either games and just wait. if the pre sequel cleans up their shit then go ahead and get that. if you really didn't get much enjoyment out of destiny then don't buy it because of the hype. you would just be wasting like $60

I don't believe 2K Australia will actually put as much effort into their next DLC if they realize that so many people will not end up playing it.

Neither, pre-sequel is nothing close to the glory of bl2 and destiny was completely overhyped, honestly I would wait for other fpsrpg's to come out even if that means waiting until bl3 is announced/released because I would hope gearbox was smart enough to try and make it right with everyone over this rather bland version of borderlands, although I WOULD actually say to go with the pre-sequel if gearbox says anything about addressing the legendary farming issue

I'd love to tell you my opinion on this DLC, however I have a MAC. When TPS was first announced for Steam OS I went out and pre-ordered the game itself and the season pass. Today I got home from work, excited to play it, and checked if I had it. I launched the game, checked updates, checked the DLC content and when I went on Steam.... it said it was only for PC. So, I pre-paid to get this DLC that I can't play that was said that I could play? Plus, I don't know if this is just me, but I think by the way they are advertising it, you have to buy the DLC to get UVHM and the level cap increase. I'm not sure though, because my game just didn't update at all. All in all, I don't understand and I am super, severely, INCREDIBLY PISSED THE FUCK OFF!!!!

UVHM should be free, if you can't get it, that's not because it's supposed to be in the DLC. The level cap IS in the DLC. For some reason only known to GB. You should have access to the dlc though. It sounds like you have some connection or download problems.

UVHM mode is free patch the level cap increase is the UVHM Pack which is the Holodome.

The thing with the boxxy is that it does dammage to you when you throw it with the magazine NOT enirely empty... When you empty the clip 100% it does no dammage to you! At least from what I experienced :)

I don't know if it's a Steam problem or a Mac problem, but my library shows the new DLC as available and just refuses to download it. So there's that. I'm doing my best to just forget about this game; I've gone back and watched some of your old BL2 videos though, and they've inspired me to go back and work on a Salvador(which I'd never done). If TPS has done anything for me, it's introduced me to your content, which I'm enjoying. Thanks.

Kind of funny. Before I downloaded the DLC I was messing around with the masher. I put in 3 purples and did a moonstone mash and got a legendary class mod. Here's the kicker. I had to down load the dlc to use it.

you forgot that some of the enemies get stuck behind the back pillars in the alcoves. you forgot that there are invisible rocks laying around. you forgot to mention the missing bottoms at some places where the enemies just sink into the ground or shoot you through the ground.... call it hide n seek dome... :/ oh.. the first round i entered... the button did not spawn... this dome is the bulkward fiesta... not that hard with a bulkward...

the fact that this game is supposed to be the PRE SEQUEL and they add 2 chararchters who in axtons case still working in the military and gaige's case doesn't have Death trap yet and is therefor not the mechro mancer. one more thing in the description they are refered to as the Vault Vetrans which in this case arnt even vault hunters yet nor is jack hunting the new vault this game takes place litterally right after borderlands 1

I really want Borderlands to do well too Bahroo, however I never really liked any of the underdome/arena style DLCs anyway, but I must say they seem to have dulled it down even further this time. They have quite a way to go to make the season pass worth it in my opinion. Borderlands needs a decent end-game, something you can work towards etc .. until then it will always have a ceiling of enjoyment, especially if lacklustre DLCs are all there is to prop it up.

Bahroo, I usually agree with you on most of your reviews, but in this instance I feel that you are focusing just on the holodome itself. I myself feel that while we got the uvhm for free as well as the ability to reset the playthrough the 10 extra levels as well as extra moonstone purchaseables from the black market for extra ammo, storage, as well as grenades were included with the holodome that they should be included with the holodome review. While this would only bump this up to a five on rating for me making it average, for myself it was still worth the money.
