Bc never have the main VHs looked absolutely crazy. They always look at home in the world. Kriege is a very basic design. Just a buffer psycho. You still like him though bc of the design. Plus skins. The character are a none issue bc you'll end up loving a certain skin and be playing who's kit you like. Customization was a bit of a focus point for BL3s VHs so I'm only guessing it going to be adding in a much better way this time.

I'm hoping so, cause the environments and enemy designs look so phenomenal, and then the vault hunters look so obscenely generic and basic even compared to the older games. Mordecai looked unique with his mask, Zero looked real unique (not to mention krieg), presequel had returning characters and claptrap, bl3's characters all looked solid and had flak. There's no "standout" real unique looking character in the base cast like in the previous games.

Can I has to rebuild Hyperion? Timothy needs a hug. Honestly, one of them had to be a siren which should stay human to look descently good. The brute character should be a psycho or some other pandoran archetype. I would want a nomad, personally but something like a Midget would be mega. The Soldier imo should be a robot, preferably a Hyperion Loader because the Turret ability being part of you is the next step we seen a bit with Wilhelm. The rogue slot is left for an alien then (much like we had Zero). Rogue Erydian Sentinel or maybe an uplifted animal. Imagine plaing an evolved Stalker with that passive invisibility. But nope. Get 4 humans with whats propably 3 generic mix-n-match skills to bore you to death.

And there's been a reason for that ever since 2, there's a continuous story to the game and a story requires characters, people with their own personalities and story who can be used even when you're not playing as them any more, we've seen that with all four of the original VHs, Krieg, Gaige, Zero, the butchery of Maya and even Jack's doppelganger, we're going to see that with BL3's PCs. Unless this game's going to definitively be the last, they can't afford to have a character creator because if they do, any future stories will suffer for it, this coming from one who doesn't particularly like any of the game save for 2.

I'm thinking the "Break Free" idea that is presented here means exactly what others have said: the Vault Hunters this time around are custom-made and you might be able to choose your abilities instead of just working with a Vault Hunter with preset abilities. The last action scene kind of shows this with a Wolf & Saint like ability (ala Wilhelm in the Pre-Sequel) and some other things going on. At least that is what I'm thinking. I don't know what else "Break Free" could mean in terms of the gameplay.

Pandora is a prison for the destroyer, designed by the guardians/sirens, which was opened in the last game. We see what looks to be guardians in the trailer fighting against augmented psychos. It was also alluded to in the last game that the guardians might be breaking off from their programing and going independent. So my guess is that it’s related to the guardians, pandora or both.

I hope to God they aren't going with customizable characters because that means your character will just be a bland spectator through the story with no personality and no unique dialog so they can appeal to everyone. This isn't like Fallout where you're character has dialog options for roleplaying. Also, your Vault Hunter will never be in a future game, so don't get too invested.

So far so... cautiously optimistic. I see the most contentious part of the trailer is the Vault Hunters. A lot of people aren't digging their designs, and I can't say I disagree. The two in the middle look alright, but the two flanking them are questionable. Some theorize that we're getting Create-a-Character a la Wonderlands, but I think that's _only_ for the Wonderlands series given it's a DnD inspired series. (I'm saying series because Gearbox once said Wonderlands is its own IP, meaning sequels are likely.) I think what's more likely is that these characters might be a bit... quirky. If anyone here has played New Tales from The Borderlands, you'll know what I'm alluding to. (Also, my condolences.) Borderlands has always had a problem with "How do you do, fellow kids?" dialogue, and I have no reason to believe they'll be dialing that back with this game. All we can do is pray that the Vault Hunters aren't as insufferable as the New Tales or Saints Row reboot cast. Ultimately I'll need to see an extended slice of gameplay before I pass judgement.

I don't know, the Gameplay in 3 was really good imo. But that didn't help the game. The story was just too awful. What they did to Reese and Vaughn was insulting. Ava, well is Ava. Honestly, they should have brought Jack back in 3, make it canon that Reese kept the USB Stick with Jacks mind, and in the story, someone stole it and resurrected him to get information or something and Jack outsmarted them. Reveal him at the end of 3, and we got a setup for 4.
