lol. I like him. very funny, and seems to really enjoy to spend his time with people interested in his work, which is not so easy to find. Especially kids.

@magykflyte6: When I discovered the Lotr stories, I was very facinated by them. They are so rich and full of details. The whole mythology around them is astonishing. the languages he invented, the cultures of the races: High elves, Wood elves, dwarves, Valar, Maiar, Numenorians, men of all sorts... I read all his books like 5 times! And then i read Paolini's books. don't think i'll read them again anytime soon... They're good, but not that good...
@Schmudy5515 жыл бұрын
yes thank you, i find very few people who realize that trying to be some sort of baseball star isnt going to work out, his books are somewhat similar since the races they use are very similar such as the urgals and orcs/urukhai but you are mostly right

^_^ he's very funny. What I like about his books is the story itself. The extra things he adds besides the main point is like adding chocolate chips to a cookie. I adore his writing and I'll probably read them more than once.

Actually, it's pretty easy to write a series of books when the storylines and character archetypes are basically identical to those found in a certain film trilogy made over 20 years ago.

i don't know why people say he copied LOTR, when there are so many things that are in the inheritance cycle that aren't in LOTR, such as magic, and the ancient language, and of course, the fact that there is dragons.
@horsesofwar000115 жыл бұрын
i love the inheritence series, but he did base olot off tolkien, how made an entire mytholgy. examples are urgals-orcs/urukhai, ra'zac-nazgal the elves are pratically the same, these are to name but a few. tolkien also used loads of norse and stuff.

Everyone that writes a book and it gets out there in big wide world are lucky..so there isnt any individuals here am afraid. The only trick is to make people like it. Some people have great stories to tell like u say, but most of the time they do it in one book or something that may be liked for selected group of people. He wrote the book that all diffeent kinds of people like thats one of the reasons is popular, if u know what i mean ofcourse.

Liguistics? Hmmm... like Tolkien... I just noticed the way magic works in this series is very similar to Ursula Le Guin's magic in the Earthsea books... I've started get much more into really weird stuff, like combining asian stuff with old English, and a little Greek mythology, plus my own stuff... it's really quite a jumble for me with Zemondraya, but... I specialize in some other "worlds"... Arabic stuff also fascinates me...

Yes, and no, 13Dephaba. I would agree that writing the length of the books is quite impressive, but that does not make them good once. Compare them with the Legends of Dune Serries for example.

@phoneinternet12316 жыл бұрын
I love the series but found Brisingr somewhat a dissapointment. Christopher rambles on about things we couldn't care about; especially the dwarves. Also we miss what could have been the best scene in the book when oromis and murtagh meet in battle. After watching this video i find it highly depressing to see how sad and geek-like Christopher Paolini is...

If you're going to sit there and deny that Inheritance is a mish-mash of Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Dragonriders of Pern, and Earthsea with a marginal sprinkling of his own "creative" twists on names and already established languages, then there's no helping you. If he were to ever read criticisms and try to improve his craft--because !SHOCKER! not all criticism is blind bashing--I'd give him props. But he doesn't, so I don't.
@NeroBlack220016 жыл бұрын
Why is he giving writing advice when his success is due to pure and unfettered LUCK? Kids, get the bloody heck outta there and ask a real and established author for pointers.

@JRCollinsfan Lol u sound so ridiculous, making hollow threats on youtube doesn't make you a badass, now if u gave an address, money for a plain ticket, or hell even the town or city u lived in it would be different a story, but nobody's impressed, we can all say that and be relatively safe, come over to my house in Boulder Colorado....real tough lol
