This is seven years too late but I wanted to thank you from perhaps a different perspective than others. I recently retired from a 30 year teaching/conducting career and I am now trying to get myself back into playing shape for the sheer joy and recreation of it. As someone watching these from a different phase of playing and life than probably most, I find myself generally only able to do real practice when my wife is asleep so that has to be on the mouthpiece only. Being able to play along on my mouthpiece to your beautiful and artistic performances have not only been extremely helpful but thoroughly joyful.

Can’t thank you enough for posting these. Each time I hit a dead end with my practice I come here and it’s like the batteries get a recharge.

What a wonderful rendition, and serendipitous that l discovered it the day after first introducing the etude to a promising student. I wonder how amazed Bordogni would have been to hear that his vocalises would be immortalized, not by singers, but by successive generations of trombonists. Keep up the good work, sir. You are a wonderful player, and your commitment to passing along your knowledge to the next generation is admirable.

So smooth, elegant and expressive- you make that instrument sound musical in a way that few others do.

It amazes me as a trombone/euphonium player that you can sound so close to a euphonium with your technique and your style. Best example is at 2:07 the way that you hold on to that D and use a very light vibrato. Love it man.
