I love the idea of making Texas Hold 'Em on Hermitcraft. You will also have everything needed to manually play regular Poker and every other card game too. Ultimately, you only need to make 5 base maps: one for all of the number cards and one each for Jack, Queen, King, and Ace. Swap out the suits and numbers in between maps. Technically speaking, you don't need to use the standard suits as long as there are 4 distinct ones. Your suits could be Redstone Ore, Leaf, Music Disc, and Potato for all that it matters. Be creative. Want speeeeeed? Just use multiple decks. Have a deck shuffled and ready to go so that when a game is over the next can start while the most recent deck is shuffled in the background. Duplicating maps is cheap and easy. [Edit: Efficient players think alike. ]

Produce all the silverfish one infestation potion will allow and let them roam around the hole 3. Splash them with regen potions, then with poison potions. This will result in silverfish constantly hiding in and coming out of the deep slate, destroying it far faster than moss. And it leaves all ores alone!

Like a usual place for all the powerful people. I am sure we will be able to come up with some cool color palettes but just a small suggestion that it could be red, black and gold. Gold showing that the Goat Father is the new richie rich, red color giving the casino vibe and black showcasing that it is illegal. Instead of levers, you can use copper bulbs (and activate them with maybe blackstone buttons or golden pressure plates) to achieve a more cleaner look for player selection.

Hey Doc, just make sure you know that when you actually construct the whole game, there are 4 total sets of bets. In the video you said that the first bet whether people want to buy in or not is after the first 3 cards have been laid out, this is incorrect. Theres the small and big blind, and then once 2 cards are initially given to each player the players go in order starting from the left of the big blind and either fold, check, or raise. Players are at this point allowed to raise the pot even when no cards have came out into the middle. Then betting and rounds proceed as normal, with bets taking place after the flop (first 3), the turn (4th), and the river (5th). Love the idea to bring all the hermits together and play holdem, stats poker was always so fun, and this will kick that up a notch. Hope this helps!

Any larger map scales take the most common (or furthest north west) color in a 2x2/4x4/8x8 area as the pixel color on the map. I’m guessing for tcg scale 1 maps were used because it takes less blocks and because larger scales don’t increase the map resolution at all

Another cool episode Doc, and Purplers. Why do you need two double chests for the shuffler? One deck will be in play while the other deck is in the shuffler. If they're both needed an easier way to select between would be hopper locking. Raise the chests position by one block then lock the hoppers under the chest that's not getting shuffled. Although you only need to raise the chest closest to the shuffler. Also minecarts, direction controlled rails, inclined detector (or activator) rails and gates (or pistons) could indicate who's turn it is. A rail circuit with direction controlled rails to the 8 offshoots. Each offshoot would end with an inclined detector (or activator) rail and has a gate (or piston) to hold the mincart in place. After each turn the dealer presses a button which releases the minecart back onto the circuit AND temporarily changes the junction rail direction to "EXIT". The"ENTRY" direction is activated only when a player joins the game. It's so simple, in my head😂 Keep up the great content❤

Wherever I work I always have my favourite tester. This person is always the one who won't follow the tutorial and do crazy things cos they will defo break my UI if it can possibly be broken. It's an eternal battle between developer and human fingers! Thank you Claire, Cheralyn, Matt, Ryan, Eamon ... to name a few :)

I think chest minecarts do the poker thing extraordinarily well. since you always shuffle the deck completely you can 'over deal' to the minecart, that passes of locked/unlocked hoppers depending if someone is still in. with 21 cards (8 players@2cards + 5) you can always deal to as many seats as you would need, and then can discard the rest and reshuffle them. And you can always keep 2 or 3 decks shuffled at a time for instant rounds. Plus the time for the rail to go from player to player is kindof a neat animation
