Yo Steve this is super good! I had no idea until yesterday that you were even working on a machine, so when I heard that this video was coming out today, I figured it would be a small/midsize machine, but NO!! This is one of your biggest ones yet! And it's so good! I loved how it really seemed to fill the space, not only covering all the open space on the table, but the second table especially has the added component of height, with the white lamp and the badminton racket tricks. Add in a wall and a floor section, and you've got yourself a machine with a very appealing path of motion. Your style is basically the complete polar opposite of mine, so it's a total mystery how you think of your ideas, but there are so many good ones here. I never expected to see yet another evolution to that mug trick, that was the first moment that really caught my eye. The ejecting razor blade is such an interesting idea, although I didn't catch it the first time through. The transition from that to the next step (the blade hitting the tape to close the box lid) is so quick but veeeeeery satisfying :) The highlight for me out of the whole machine is the lamp trick and the book trick back to back. I can't believe how smoothly the lamp moves, how the arm as a whole moves first, then just the hinge at the end, all from just the added weight of the ball. But the book trick!! My favorite!! Still not totally sure how it works but I was impressed by the cleverness of it on my first watchthrough. The motion just felt so natural, it didn't feel overengineered or forced. I love a good self-powered ball path trick! I'm so glad to hear that you're putting more focus on building machines, if this is the kind of thing we can expect from you, we're in for a real treat. I really hope you enjoyed making this as much as I enjoyed watching it ;)
@SpriceMachines4 жыл бұрын
I finished filming this two weeks ago and am already well into my next machine! The mug trick and lamp tricks were discovered just by playing around with them while the razor blade ejection trick had been on my idea list for a very long time. Book trick would be easier to explain in person but I'm very proud of that one so glad you liked it!
@TheVarietyGuyTV4 жыл бұрын
Nice work Steve! Loved this machine. The little gift that comes tumbling out of the mailbox is so satisfying for some reason, and the pendulum that lengthens with each swing is sick. I also like the controlled chaos of the tape measure and how it flips in the necessary direction after recoiling without extra guidance from other objects.

This was amazing!! As always, your use of foreign objects is unmatched by any other. I loved the magnet launcher at 1:53, the sequence with the books at 2:13, and the swinging lamp at 2:26. My favorite had to be the mug at 1:16, how did you come up with that??? This machine was super entertaining from start to finish, and the punchline at the end was super well planned as well! Nicely done, and congrats on the SkillShare sponsorship! That's amazing!

So you’re saying that you pushed a red ball with your hand, it rolls down... then it activates another ball by using a small crane thing which makes the hammer turn the green fidget spinner, causing the red fidget spinner to turn, making the yellow fidget spinner hitting the dominoes which causes the rest of the dominoes to fall which triggers a string to fall down then rolls a cup and turns it and spills out a metal cube which yet again another ball triggers which causes a wooden block to fall down therefore causing the red ball to move, goes into the tunnel then causes the briefcase to fall down, revealing a hidden wooden track making a blue ball roll then rolling on the wooden track toppling a domino then a metal cup making the metal cup roll to the wooden block, tipping it off which makes the yellow basket roll out which makes a pin fall down causing the blue beads inside of the pitcher to fall down as well
