Birkenhead(within the Wirral paninsuar) is on other side of the River Mersey from Liverpool, it has its own local government metropolitan council ... its called Wirral Bourough Council ... Thats a FACT!. Even though I'm from Liverpool I'm PROUD to support Tranmere Rovers F.C. and sing that Wonderful Song

As far as most people are concerned, anyone that comes from within a few miles of Liverpool and speaks with anything resembling the accent is a 'Scouser'. I really wouldn't get too hung up about it

You have No idea of the differing acents within the Merseyside reogen, Yes Liverpool has its Scouse accent. What about St Helens (the rugby league town) thats more of a mid Lancashire accent and Southport they have an east Lancashire accent. In regard to The Wirral they has a soft liverpool accent incorparating an eastern Cheshire accent .... You can Only be a Scouser if you come from or live in Liverpool. Birkenhead is on the other side of the River Mersey.
