I have had a machine with the side cutter foot for 20+ years and no one showed me what I was doing wrong until I saw your demonstration on the foot. Thanks!

I’ve had the side cutter for many years now. I first got it with my Brother HE-1 machine. I love that Brother sewing feet’s are interchangeable. I also have the Brother serger 1034 that l bought used over 14 years and it’s still going strong🤗 Thanks for sharing🤩

Hi I have been wondering whether to buy a serger but I don’t have the space. I brought the side cutter today. Seeing your video certainly helps and explains so simply how to use it. I am glad I brought it now.

Thanks! Great info & also think it’s a good foot to have for those of us that have limited space & don’t have the need for a server. I wouldn’t use it that often.

No matter how expensive or how good or what brand the overlock side cutter is, the Serger is always the best. The fabric is flat after overlocking n it does not pucker.
@BoricuaSewingCrafts7 ай бұрын
I agree, but this is a good option for those that just can't afford a serger at the moment. All those sewing machine can cut an arm and a leg especially the good ones.
@beyondallmeasure6 ай бұрын
I have an old Singer, and their brand cutting attachment was slightly less ($30ish on Amazon?). We are living off grid in a very small space. So a serger isn't currently an option. I'm excited to try the new attachment. Thank you for the demo!

I have this side cutter and just love it. My sewing room space is pretty limited and I don’t think I could fit a server in there. Also when I travel I don’t want to carry both a sewing machine and a serger plus all the accessories. This works great. For travel I carry a simple manual LX3718A brother sewing machine and this side cutter works fantastic on it.

8:37 Use the blade that cuts the fabric! When you are finished with the stitch, just bring the fabric on the right side and bring the extra stitches under the presser foot, the blade will cut them so you don’t have to use scissors! Hope it makes sense! Click on this link and go to minute 5:05, there it shows you how to do it! kzbin.info/www/bejne/anfNhKdnlNSikK8

Thanks for a great in depth video of the side cutter. I'm in the UK & see there are 2 sizes of side cutters, one being 5mm & the other is 7mm. Im guessing that the difference would be in the size of the stitches? Is that correct please? Thanks Irene.

Hi How are you? I have a se1900. I want to embroider a tote bag and a dog collar is it okay if I use the needle that it came with or do you suggest getting a different kind of needle?
@BoricuaSewingCrafts3 жыл бұрын
Hi Esmot. You should use the correct needle for the fabric you are embroidering on. Google "Fabrics 101 Stabilizer and Design Guide", this will help.

Hi Linda. You can do a rolled hem with this machine. You will need to get the Rolled Hem Foot. (Part #: SA127). Here is the link to the foot: amzn.to/3PzCiZv

I have a question, when I save a name or any text on my Brother SE1900 in sewing machine mode and have to resize it. It seems to be no way to resize the whole name or text without doing each letter. Have you tried this feature yet? Thanks 🤩
@BoricuaSewingCrafts2 жыл бұрын
I always resize every letter on the machine. If you have embroidery software you will be able to resize the whole word.
