Fun fact: ISROs Mars mission costed less than the budget for the movie Gravity.

If ISRO gets a budget equal to NASA 🇺🇸🚀. Then ISRO would launch whole NASA 🇺🇸🚀 into space🌌.

NASA is inefficient due to the fact that:- 1.) Its a pioneer 2.) American politics, where every senator wants a piece of the space contract to be fulfilled from his constituency. Think of how Indian railways has to put up with the Politicians in our country, adding trains solely for political reasons on an already overburdened network. Thankfully, the last two Railway Ministers have managed to stifle that problem and have achieved a lot in the de-congestion of the network. But I digress. Point is NASA also has to put up with similar nonsense which is why it becomes a bit inefficient.

In those 104 Satellite that a launched in a single vehicle only 3 were indian. Remaining were USA (96), The Netherlands (1), Switzerland (1), Israel (1), Kazakhstan (1) and UAE (1). So ISRO helps other countries also send their satellites.

Its a commercial contract. Not exactly a help. Help is the kind of what ISRO did for SAARC nations by building a satellite for them, launching it and then training the scientists in those nations on how to use that satellite.
@KuldeepSingh-ch7mg

@@death_parade if it was only commercial than why USA didn't used NASA for their satellites, it's bcz ISRO does that in very less cost it is a kind of help to small countries who can't afford NASA ,if ISRO refuses to do This in low cost than those countries can't do anything.

@@KuldeepSingh-ch7mg Companies that want to launch their satellites approach a broker that arranges a ride to space at the earliest available slot. The broker looks for rides going to space from ALL commercial space launchers. Then, based on which rocket and launch time suits the customer's needs and which launch cost suits the customer's pockets, the decision to book a slot is made. Its pure business. Sometimes, satellite owners are willing to pay extra to get their satellites sent early. Sometimes they pay extra for reliability. All this is a multivariable problem. You are fixating on only one variable. While I agree that ISRO does have an enviable position in commercial contracts, its certainly not the best or the only choice for those on a tight budget. . Space X and ISRO have the same launch cost per kg and Space X's costs are going to go down further once their Starship and SuperHeavy come online. ISRO's launch prices will remain at this level till atleast the end of this decade (after which ISRO's reusable rockets would start becoming operational). So point is, Space X will be leading the cost competitiveness part from now on for at least the next 10 years.

Did you know a lot of satellites in the 104 were actually American? ISRO also lets other countries with less budgets to send their own satellite at less cost.

Gabe being a software engineer i must correct you. Yes you are right as of now computers can't think. But we are giving them that capability and we are working on that very very fast. Soon computers will be able to think and find most optimal solutions very very fast then we can ever be able to think.

We do not have the fantasy of competing with the economically advanced nations in the exploration of the Moon or the planets or manned space-flight. But we are convinced that if we are to play a meaningful role nationally, and in the community of nations, we must be second to none in the application of advanced technologies to the real problems of man and society."

Speaking of the Space Shuttle, Nick: Kalpana Chawla, an Indian Engineering graduate came to the US in 1982 to study for a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering. She went on to earn a second Masters, and a PhD as well. In '87 she joined NASA and in '91 she became a US citizen. She went on to go on a mission into space on the Space Shuttle Columbia in '97, and again in 2003 on Columbia's final mission that exploded on re-entry. She is a hero in India, and in the US where she was awarded a posthumous Congressional Medal of Honor.

unfortunately that record of 104 satellites have been beaten by who else but space x. they launched 143 satellites in a single launch. they did face a bit of criticism for it though due to environmental hazards that it costs.

Nick, to answer your question, there are thousands of satellites orbiting the earth. But they will never crash into each other. The chances of them even coming close to each other is super small, this is because distances in space are so large it is beyond normal human comprehension. Besides, we track the orbits of each satellite, so there is nothing to worry about. Gabe, I know the picture you mentioned about satellites covering the earth like dust. But that is only an artist's rendition exaggerating the fact that we have thousands of satellites orbiting us. It's not a real picture. In reality, the earth is very large and the satellites are super tiny in comparison. So if we take a picture of the whole earth, we shouldn't be able to see any satellites whatsoever.

For people like you, who has more money and missions is successful. For us who has more innovation. problem solving and results in successful, that too in efficient and low costs. So that we can help other poor countries too. Yes, in that way ISRO is better than NASA, because NASA don't give a fuck about low-budget space service for other countries who can't afford NASA.
