Freddie Starr was an all round entertainer, not just a comedian! The man didn't just stand up on stage telling jokes, he entertained the audience through song, dance, jokes, and audience interaction. He was a true legend of Britain, one of their best, yet his country let him down in the end as you say! The media as usual talked sh*t about Freddie as they do all the time, things that were not true. This broke Freddie's heart, and he moved to Spain to live to try and get away from all the heartache! He lost his tour dates, his status, his reputation, and eventually his life due to the media and people listening to the crap they talk! Unfortunately, the man who was one of Britain's finest, was forgotten about overnight and left to rot! Freddie died alone and sad in Spain, renting a room above a bar where he performed every night to make rent. He died heartbroken in my opinion, and thousands of the people "who claimed they loved him", didn't even show up at his funeral as they were "too proud" to be seen at it, due to the allegations against him! SHAME ON THEM! I'm from Northern Ireland, but I was lucky to see Freddie live a few times in Blackpool UK, and actually talk to him! He was a gentleman. R.I.P Freddie 💖💥

I agree. One of the best British entertainers ever, sadly let down by this modern self me me society that cant take a joke & easily offended, not forgetting the money grabbers That said I dont condone physical abuse from males or females . I grew up with bright ginger hair (sadly, like Freddie its gone now) so imagine the hassle & names I was called , so it was either sit in a corner crying or fight back with words and give them a taste of their medicine. Generally that stopped them in their tracks. RIP Freddie thanks for the memories!

Singer, comedian, stand-up, minic and impersonator and actor. Crazy as a bag of squirrels, brilliant and so funny. No one ever knew what to expect when he was invited on shows or when he was interviewed. Nothing planned. Saw him live twice. First time came out swinging on a rope dreased as Tarzan! Absolutely brilliant.

First saw Freddie in the very early 60’s, he had his own group and was at the vanguard of the Liverpool sound, but because he really enjoyed mimicking other singers became a top comedian, but in his shows always did a spot of serious singing, thanks for the video

Freddie was a one off. Great comic and loved Elvis. Worshiped him. Like Kirsty McColl sang "Theres's a guy down the chip shop who thhinks he's Elvis". And there were loads of them. Elvis was brilliant. And Freddie just showed his love and respect. 🤠❤🙏

We saw Freddie at the Club Fiesta on Teesside, in north east England, twice in the mid 1970s, and he was amazing. Until then I wasn’t a big fan but he was superb. He did jokes, mimicking lots of famous people ‘and’ singing many songs from the late1950s/early 1960s. He was the ultimate performer, plus he could take down any heckling. We saw him again in the 1980s at the Portsmouth Guildhall, where he shared the bill with his pal comedian Lenny Bennett and they had great fun. A great loss. RIP Freddie.

Freddie was a singer first,in Liverpool in the 60s with the delmonts and the midnighters,then he became a comedian in the early 70s appearing on a British talent show called opportunity knocks,which he won. He always said his first and biggest hero was Elvis xx

The Jordanaires would have been SO WELL REHEARSED (with Elvis), that they would be able to pick up a line, a tune or a track *IN LESS THAN A HEART BEAT!* Freddie Starr was not "doing" Jim Carey. When this was filmed, Jim Carey was still in his school shoes. It's a good impersonation. It wobbles in places but there are moments in the song that sound strikingly similar to Elvis.

Freddie was, without a doubt, an amazing impersonator...especially of Elvis of course. He was also such an all round comedic entertainer...Guys, also you should check out Ben Portsmouth, a Brit...and probably the GREWATEST impersonator of Elvis...that has EVER been...Thank you so much for this by "our Freddie..." Freddie wasn't really an actior whe he was an amazing entertainer and mimic. One of the few people I've seen who can go on stage and make people laugh befilore he sais a word. Sadly the end of his life was tragic. There was a huge scandal in the entertainment industry in the UK. Radio DJ and TV presenter Jimmy Saville was exposed as a prolific paedophile and serial abuser following his death. Accusations were made against a number of other personalities over a number of years. A oolice Task Force was set up to investigate. Freddie was arrested in 2012 as part of Operation Yew Tree and questioned 3 times. Details of his arrest amd the allegations were released in the media. In 2014 police announced thatcin Freddie's case there was no evidence to support criminal charges. The media and many of the public who loved Freddie turned against him. It really was trial by ordeal. He spent much of his fortune on lawyers. He moved to Spain became alcoholic and depressed. He died there virtually penniless in 2019. An English Funeral Director (Michael Fogg from Sheffield) a fan arranged to repatriare Freddie's body back to the UK and conducted a service in Merseyside attended by a large number of his Showbiz friends and fans. Freddie is buried in a kocal churchyard in a greve with his Mother and Step Father.
