I love how clearly Pastor shows that we are born again based completely on God's mercy and love and not anything that originated from within us. Dead people cannot make themselves alive. They surely can't believe anything concerning born again salvation when they are dead. But God...

I really love the explanation for this! There’s so much gold in this passage and really helps even with dealing with Calvinistic and Armenian concepts! Thank you so much! I love the point of worship at the beginning! It’s what we were created for and if we fail to do that while we read God’s word, then we are missing a lot! Love this!

We MUST be born again. You are born again when you are like Jesus. Then you are sinless 1 John 2: 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. We must be born again! Then Jesus has baptized you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit do not let you sin anymore!!! To become born again you have to repent and ask Jesus forgiveness for your sins or ask Jesus in your heart! A really born again Christian has no future sins!! He is perfect, righteous and the light of the world. Please study : 1 John 3, Romans 6:6, Romans 8, Gal 5, Eph 4 and Titus 2:14!

@@jandrost4664 If you're right about this, that Christians are born again only after they sin no more, not even in the future, then don't you realize that you are going to hell? You likely sin with your thoughts and attitude and probably your actions too...every day! You're teaching a works based salvation and Galatians forbids bringing any other gospel. Please read through the book of Galatians and Romans. You are made righteous by faith! See Romans 1:17 and 4:3 for starters. For example, Peter, one of the great Apostles, was rebuked by Paul for acting cowardly, playing favorites, and lacking integrity (Galatians 2). Was Peter not yet born again because he was still sinning? That's doubtful. You also said that Jesus baptizes you with the Holy Spirit after you are born again (I agree!). But remember, Peter was a sinner and was not yet born again, even though he was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit all throughout his ministry (read the book of Acts!) Ironically, this video is about a letter written by Peter (that sinner!), about salvation! You are misunderstanding the literary style of the Apostle John. John lists things in contrast with each other in order to make black and white points. John cannot possibly mean that Christians never sin anymore. Furthermore, I am willing to bet that the Greek tense of some of those verses that you listed are in the present/passive tense. This suggests that those who live a continuous lifestyle (instead of those who stumble occasionally) of the verses you explained are probably not born again. The first commandment says you shall have no other God's before me. That's idolatry. Have you not idolized any single thing in the past month? How about the commandment to not lie? Have you ever used someone else's words without giving them credit? That's lying and stealing! It's clearly impossible to live a sinless life. That's why Jesus did it for you. Trust in Christ alone for your salvation, and let your good works follow. Stop working your way to heaven, you can't. You empty the whole purpose and hope of the Gospel and the cross of Christ when you teach the things you've said above.

@@jandrost4664 No. I said that John’s literary style is unique. He makes stark contrasts so that the reader can see distinguishing differences between those who are saved and those who are not saved. It is also likely that John is speaking in the present/passive voice which means that it is a continuing action, not an occasional action. Believers sin occasionally, maybe probably every day. Unbelievers sin continuously-without ever repenting and confessing and seeking forgiveness. You must also understand another important aspect about 1 John. He wrote this book because he was defending the Christian faith against heretics that slipped into the church. Gnosticism was on the rise at this point in time and John sensed that it would have a detrimental affect on the church (Gnosticism still affects the church today). John wrote a letter warning the true Christians of the heresies that were beginning to take form. When defending the faith, you must make black and white differences so that the friends and enemies of Christianity can see clearly who loves God and who does not love God. Are you married? I am. I love my wife very much, but I do not always love her perfectly. Marriage is very difficult at times. If you plan on never sinning again, don’t ever get married. Do you pray without ceasing? Do you have joy continuously? Are you fearless? If not, you’re in sin. The Bible is clear that we need Christ because we are still sinners, not because we became perfect. Jesus said himself that He came for those who are sick, not those who are well. This is not a reference to physical health, this is referring to those who admit that they are sinners and need Christ to save them. If the Bible isn’t clear enough on this issue, then common sense should tell us that it is simply impossible for us not to sin ever again. We are dead to our old selves, but we are still putting off our old nature, day by day. We were justified (made right with God) at the point of our conversion. But we are still being sanctified every day that we are still alive here on earth. Then we will be glorified, which means we will not only be justified, but we will finally be sinless. That will only happen heaven. (Romans 10:9)
