The Dark war blade, (21:02) looks and works really similar to The Dragonslayer from Berserk. I'm conviced it is a Berserk reference. Also same with the cursed mark thing acting like the Brand of Sacrifice, attracting spirits.

This is one of my favorite mob diversity mods, and I hope I can add it to my eventually modded SSP world. The only issue with it is that it doesn’t tend to play nice with dimension mods (or the vanilla End, for that matter.) I heard it’s best to use a mod that lets you edit the spawn rates of various mobs in order to make sure that the BiC mobs don’t spawn in places they shouldn’t, or take up the spawn tables with a bunch of mobs that don’t actually spawn (the latter is an issue someone reported on the mod’s page; they had to edit the spawn table for the End and remove all the unused BiC mobs from it to get their Enderman spawn rates up to normal levels.)

help- there's so many references i personally spotted PvZ and Don't Starve/DST references, like with the dire hounds and the pile of bones being their den the thornshell crab may be a reference to the crab king in DST, cause they look very similar and ofc there's a bunch of PvZ references with the zombies, like the door knight which is painfully obvious

This has become one of my favorite mods ever. It has the exact same philosophy I had for years for Minecraft: unique mobs with interesting mechanics that drop items to craft special weapons that aren't just more attack damage. Models and textures are extremely vanilla-friendly, far more than other mods that I also adore but that have trouble adapting their ideas to the simplicity of Minecraft's models. A few tweaks are always needed, but this mod manages to totally change the game without kidnapping the player. Only thing it needs to become perfect is actual config files.

No offense but I accidentally spaced out during the weapons showcase. I think I'd rather see more enchantments than weapons but maybe that's just me. But I was very engaged while seeing all the great mobs. I saw at least a few that I thought would make good additions to the vanilla game like the Thornshell Crab 10:42. Sir Pumpkinhead 12:49 appears to be heavily based on the Headless Horseman from the Sleepy Hollow legend and the Nightmare Stalker 7:31 remindes me of the Jersey Devil. There's so many it's hard to pick a favorite but the Dark Vortex 7:19, the Thornshell Crab and the Nightmare Stalker are my favorite so far. I also like the idea of summoning a scarecrow to act as a substitute Golem 6:17.

This mod is even more better then before now, texture overhauls and the new mini boss the life stealer makes the wither resistance potion even more useful and speaking of the life stealer it allows you to make a good potion or a really powerful item known as Dark Atrium which when used will give you an effect for 1 hour where if you die, it saves you. the only thing I don't like is how rare the nightmare stalker skull is, 5% drop rate and I was killing tons of them with looting 3 for ages and I still haven't got one but I have got dark metal armor.
