Cheech Marin, writes, directs and stars in Born In East L.A., a hip, outrageous comedy that's more timely than ever. the scene where rudy is all set to get his arse back and the woman begging and pleading to be allowed onboard is very emotional and was looking for it to see what comments it would get; the lady switched with rudy at his own volition and she just doesn't say a word; it's very interesting to debate what she was thinking and i often feel a different emotion each time i watch this movie and get to this part. some days i think the couple are using deception and crying and hoping to get sympathy as a ruse but then other times i think she's just embarassed or stunned when i eventually learned that humans can react to acts of generosity or humaneness in complicated ways that can be misinterpreted. very interesting to hear what comments that video would garner.

That part was RUTHLESS, and thats when the movie became real. Fun, funny, and romantic.. but that scene really brought the 4th wall into tears. Relateable especially being mexican. The fear of being left behind and rudy no longer gave a fuck. Beautiful scene after rudy gives his seat and walks straight to the border to try 1 more time

I never had this movie on VHS growing up. But I did have Home Alone 1 and Home Alone 2 on VHS growing up. Anyway I remember when I was maybe 6 years old my mom was watching this scene when this movie came on television. So during this part I remember thinking to myself "Wow the guy in the white jacket reminds me a lot of Marv". I should have known why

Bidens immigration policy is very similar to Reagan's. The old INS didn't put people in cages or criminalized repeat attempts to enter the country illegally. These guys would probably be processed be sent back and try again in 2 or 3 days. Today you get thrown in jail. The Clinton immigration law of 96 criminalized repeat attempts to enter the country illegally and the wall started going up.
