I agree with Kaycie that the mark on the side of the Krode looks like a ribbon bow. I also LOVE the little steppies they do with their legs in their idle animation, it's adorable.

1 quick tip: NEVER SELL SEEDLE SEEDS! That was the one item I had to grind for completion. The pokemon you were thinking about was Phantump. (Speaking of Pokemon, if you want to play the Scarlet and Violet DLC you will probably want to start soon because I bet Pokemon Legends Z-A is going to be a Switch 2 Launch title.) The Krode enemy was definitely hitting the back of Mario not Luigi. Enemies can hit Luigi (as I found out the hard way) but only if you give Luigi a command. (i.e. Jump/Hammer/Luigi Logic) Those enemies just have insane accuracy and are almost impossible to avoid. Ian you missed the Gear Slot upgrade on the previous rank up because you didn't look at your options. That is why for this rank it would normally be a tough choice between killing enemies quicker or surviving more attacks. That sounds like the gift cards got lost into the void that is the transaction stage. I bet the money that would be on that gift card got added to the purchase and removed off the card but when you cancelled it out it didn't add the money back. (This is also why I would rather just have cash that I was told where to spend it than a gift card.) Bird tip confusing 5/10. Casey's Red Flag joke 10/10. I think Krode is meant to be pronounced Kay-rode. I always try to check before spelling any names so I don't spell them wrong. If I can't find the spelling anywhere I usually try to come up with some way to avoid using the name all together. (This goes with real life too. Even if I'm pretty confident about the name I avoid using it at all costs.)

Pink has been spotted in the maze! Surely the pink herrings are truthful, unlike the red ones. Also while this game’s soundtrack doesn’t necessarily compare to Yoko Shimomura’s work on the previous titles, it’s still a darn good soundtrack and Merrygo Island gets stuck in my head sometimes. Good stuff

Day 224 of reminding everyone Ian drank Casey’s Nesquik. My favorite character in all of Mario shows up on this island! She’s smart, funny, pink. Just incredible. Can’t wait to see Birdo again.

If doing the side quest would make you feel better (I know missing things can gnaw at the brain), then go for it. If doing extra work would bother you more, don't worry about it. I'm here to enjoy you enjoying the game. :)

Funnily for Casey, she read the Krode’s design completely right, they’re based on an enemy from Bowser’s Inside Story that was a tree, it was made of wood and sometimes had a dangling acorn where these ones are made of rusting metal. The originals would throw sticks where these new ones throw metal pipes. Edit: I hope I’m spelling Keighcee’s name correctly

13:45 and here's a shining example of why surefooted guard is a good thing to have On the gift card thing, gift cards are just money you can't use for emergencies imo As for the side quest, feel free to do it if you want, I do think it's cool, but this specific side quest isn't the most necessary one either so I'm fine either way I am very glad you took gear slot this time Also, this isn't super important right now, but they let you change plugs mid-battle without consuming your turn and I honestly believe that they expect you to be switching them on the fly in later boss battles

I'm an anti-fan of gift cards. They're money you can only spend at specific places, and they sometimes go bad. So I'd much rather get an equivalent amount of money as a gift. It definitely feels like you're underleveled for this area. Like the game expected you to wander around to various islets and do sidequests before coming here or something. YESSSS!!!! RETURN OF BIRDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quashiie is certainly an unusual spelling, it's not surprising a lot of the comments misspell it.

Ya know now that I think about it geting quick leveling was a good choice because this is a let’s play you can’t just level grind. So picking quick leveling lets you be high enough level to do things easier. (I’ve had to level grind 5 levels to do a sidequest and not get one shot)

My least favorite island in the game, didn't confuse me but it didn't feel like a maze as it was just an annoying puzzle and i like most puzzles in games to test myself. Very close to the end of the game though one particular part messed up my near perfect balance i had set for how i was leveling the bros. Oh wow, never noticed that hold in the maze which means i may have to go back.
