Interesting, but I think I’m gonna try and build one and use the info from your build while back. Thanks for sharing

Did you ever do any hatches? Your site is silent on this issue...did you have good results?

This video wasn't even a half review. There was zero review in this video. He did do a complete review of the 49 and my KZbin research shows that the Borotto blows away others this size and smaller.

Terry good morning. Does everything you said about the Lumia 16 also apply to the Lumia 8 ? I am not quite ready for the bigger one just yet. Thank You

Have done a few small hatches. Up to 24 eggs. Always have a issue assembling the egg turner correctly & was hoping this video would have set us straight on how to do it?

I invested in that exact incubator because I wanted to cross some chicken breeds and make something new. But even after having the incubator for about 5 years I never knew that middle reservoir was a reservoir. I kinda wish all 3 reservoirs connect, and just put dividers to make them bigger or smaller

Nice Job Terry!! Do the instructions still recommend rotating eggs as in the Real49?
@CoturnixCorner3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the manual reads almost exactly as the Real 49, but I don't see any need to rotate the eggs. Temps are very stable.

Up to 64 quail eggs but i found it was too crowded on lockdown and hatch day but everyone is different however its best to stick a couple of eggs in the center of the cup if you only have 1 or 2 left after filling the rest up otherwise they have a tendency to fall when the turner turns
@CoturnixCorner3 жыл бұрын
I notice that with larger jumbo size eggs it is best to place only two vs four in each cloverleaf. Thanks for the advice.

Where are the air vents and do they need to be opened/closed?

Hello. I want to ask you. I live in Texas are there any quail that are endangered and the state will pay me to raise and release.
@ammoiscurrency57062 жыл бұрын
You could reach out to your local state biologist. Call up the fish and game department!

Contact Borotto at borotto.com, I'm sure they can ship to you.

Entry level should be around $100 or less. Iv done alot of hatches from my kotronix 12 egg incubator. I got a quail egg turner for it and do 22 eggs. I use it as my test hatcher and after 2 years still runs great with great hatch rates. Think it's around $89 right now.

Can someone tell me if it matters which end of the chicken egg you point down in this incubator? I've done 3 hatches so far with it getting about about 50% hatch rate. I tried them pointy end down last hatch I was told, not good success. I know it could be my rooster, humidity, heat etc but need to put eggs in right way to start might help me out some.

Also have a Nurture Right 360 incubator I used last season and had great success with it. So I don't know why I'm having so much failure with the B. Lumia 16, SO I wonder about the eggs on their side or eggs on their end.
@lindsaynorman93233 жыл бұрын
I love the multi sized tray idea. so you don't have to buy the incubator and invest in quail racks and then you have chicken turners just laying around. I also loved when you said the hatch tray fits tightly around. I have a cheaper (but working) incubator and I have one side that I stick a bit of felt into as I've had chicks get legs or toes snagged. probably wouldn't be an issue with chickens but forquail it is.

Lumia 16 for £170 or Real 24 for £190? Seems the Real 24 would be better?
@willdurant2162 жыл бұрын
One thing to note about this system that may cause confusion (did for me). Anyhow, if you order the 16 with the humidifier ensure you don't cross the two power packs. If you do, the incubator heater system will pulsate intermittently and cannot get to temperature. Reverse them as designed and they'll function correctly. The ends to both power sources are the same diameter. Don't let the instructions patronize you either. Written with Italian charm 😑

Dumb question... Why don't they make multiple, stacking tiers for that model? 2 or 3 tiers would make that little incubator a staple on every farm.

Hi from South Carolina. I have a few questions still researching on what to do. I like it to as easy as possible for my initial setup. Can you explain why to rotate eggs for 24 hrs after initial receipt. What is a lockdown? Brooding box specs;
@CoturnixCorner3 жыл бұрын
Normally you let the eggs rest for 24 hours after receipt which helps to stabilize the air cell. Lockdown is the last few days of incubation where you remove the eggs from the turner and place them on the hatching tray, and you raise the humidity levels. As far as a brooder, you can use a Sterilite plastic tub from Walmart with a heat lamp.

I would rather spend just a fraction more and purchase the real 24 for the price difference just my thoughts
