I'm glad you mentioned band-aid vib. Since you mentioned it, I get it. Many ouds, usually some good synthetic ones, like MFK uses, do smell like band-aid wound dressing. I'm glad you are critical of it, as it may be slightly boring. I would like the oud to have more of a punch. Bortnikoff is trying to make his quality natural Ouds, smooth and mass appealing.

It’s very evocative of chinese temples and joss sticks to me. I enjoyed the scent memory connection but I also know I wouldn’t wear it. Do you feel oud oils maybe wasted in complex compositions?

On my skin the castoreum and oudhs combine to give a sort burning oudh type of smell which i like. Had boughta sample and went ahead and picked up a 15 ml partial😊. Thanks for sharing your thoughts👍

Did you ever try Nabucco Parfum Fin. Its a mixed media scent from a small niche house. The presentation is minimalistic, one of the best ive seen so far. The price is ridiculous (of course). But i think that its worth trying. The other scents are okay as well (all of them are mixed media). Would like to hear your opinion on benchaabane soir de marrakech as well (mixed media as well).

Most oud fragrances don't contain real artisan oud oils, just the idea of oud is over used in mainstream now

I need to get the hang of oud. Don't know it at all. But it seems to me that your early fragrance creations will be oud-nuanced ... And there's nothing wrong with that! By the way, was the castoreum accord in this fragrance animal-derived or a synthetic derivative?

This almost sounds like Oud Wood Intense mixed with MFK Cashmere Oud. OWI is heavy on castoreum and MFK is heavy on smelling like bandaids lol

Think of it like arej LA Dore? They're two completely different worlds just because they are friends and work together it doesn't mean that their houses are any way shape or form similar 101 people use raw materials Musk hamburgers 100% essential oils etc etc does that mean they're all the same I don't think so there's absolutely nothing similar to each other especially these two houses that you mentioned they couldn't be far further apart

Haha I really can connect what u said bro. When u get the habit of pure natural complex oudh oils, it's obvious u will understand the lack of depth of oudh in these kinda scents. That's why I prefer I must have to sample oudh scents b4 I buy specially frm European perfumery. It's kinda shameful when a perfumery says MYSTERIOUS OUDH, so Mouthful, but just has a dash of Woodiness rather than the intensely leathery Hindi oudh or fruity combodian.

fort and manle bojnokopff probably, but the oud is only really noticeable in the opening, it mellows out with a mix of woods in the base and all wrapped up in cocoa

listening to the note break down it sounds like one right up my alley. shame about the peformance. speaking of peformance, i refunded my TF tuscan leather as it has been reformulated from the sample i have. 3 sprays and 4 hours later its a close skin scent. the sample, i could spray on my forearm it would project through shirt and be prominent for multiple days, even through light showers. shame.
