De hecho es canon, en el manga se menciona dicho incidente como si hubiera ocurrido antes hace no mucho, existen novelas que canonisan todos los primeros arcos del anime desde el de Nue hasta la graduación (incluso te cuentan detalles que nunca pudieron poner durante el tiempo de emisión de cada uno a cerca de como y porque sucedió)
