As a Boruto enjoyer, I think the biggest thing that Boruto suffered from is definitely his initial perception of hating Naruto. Its not helped that our introduction to him was the Boruto movie where he goes through that exact arc where he comes to understand Naruto more. Except then that exact same movie is adapted into the monthly manga, and furthermore that arc being adapted in the anime is finished up 65 episodes into the show. Borutos initial reputation suffered because so much of what the casual audience was shown was the Boruto who hated Naruto and didnt understand what it meant to be a ninja. I think hes so much better after that character arc

So what is saying is boruto is just a repeat of the sakura situation but on a lesser scale. Sakura was introduced by hating naruto and to this day, no matter how much she has changed since the beginning, some people STILL hate sakura because of what she did in the beginning of naruto.

You need to show and give a reason for the audience to like the character at first I production. If it doesn't do that, the audience will HATE that character, it would NEED a really really good build up and payoff to convince the audience to LIKE that character. For example, Sakura, I HATED her, but throughout the original Naruto it made me like Sakura.
@chasetanner482221 күн бұрын
@@RobertVistal-jp2cw Yeah the way he handled sakura was the one thing kishimoto regrets the most. He hated that he made sakura so useless in part 1 of naruto and the anime made her look even worse. He tried to fix her in shippuden, keyword TRIED. But by that point, her reputation was so ruined he couldn't fix it. so he had to shift the writing from naruto×sakura to naruto×hinata so his fans wouldn't hate the ending of the story where naruto gets married and becomes hokage. Kishimoto came to regret making sakura comes from a family of ordinary civilians. If your story puts so much detail and effort on a characters family and what powers they get from being in said family, then Having one of your MAIN CHARACTERS come from a ordinary family that offers nothing in terms of powers was a bad idea in hindsight. Only the actual main character could pull a situation like that off and it was proven true by naruto in part one. Part one naruto was a orphan who not only not knew anything about his parents. But also at that point in the story, he didn't have any unique abilities from his family.

As someone who has genuinely given a Boruto a chance (I didn't read the manga but I watched like 100 or so episodes of the anime) after picking it up cus the hook at the beginning was interesting as hell, you really articulated this very well. In fact, I think you did mention all the things and reasonings of my apprehension towards Boruto. When I was talking with my fellow friends who did not pick up Boruto either, I said that I didn't like it because of these reasons: - It did not feel very 'ninja' anymore. I mean the end of the Naruto was also very un ninja-ish with Kaguya, but Boruto even more so. -I could not find myself to like Boruto as a character, I personally do not think I would pick up a manga with that kind of mc. -It feels like everything was zippy zappy.... like fast? They learn everything fast. Especially with the rasengan and stuff? They learn and master things in like 3-5 days max. Also, it lowkey feels like Boruto is handed everything in a silver platter? Like whoop now I got this cool jutsu. -The universe feels entirely different, the technology aside, it has to be the power scaling? OG characters having a hard time with the villains made me feel like they got rusty from the peace or smth. And there's also dinosaurs and shit ToT -The side characters feel shallow (?) when they be like children of the main cast yk? Idk, they don't really feel compelling? Also I find it very weird that every rookie 9 or konoha 11 member has kids of all the same age?? like they literally went "Hey let's do it together" in an orgy or smth cus whaaat The fight scenes are really cool, and I like seeing Boruto make his own rendition to the rasengan albeit him learning it in 4 days, and the karma seal is kinda cool tho it do be kinda lookin like the byakugou. And what the hell is the jougan, I thought the top 3 doujutsu was the rinnegan, sharingan and the byakugan? And how did Boruto inherit it outta nowhere when it is not related to the byakugan in anyway? Is bro an illegitimate child lmao. Why do they be spawning new types of doujutsu so often. Ik my reasons do be childish but whenever I pick up Boruto, I get a whiplash cus wat da hell is goin awn. And they killed my boy Kurama off, separated him from Naruto, I can not accept that T.T Anywho, I grew up with Naruto so I'm biased but also, I didn't really like Naruto: the last (which was the precursor to boruto) and I also dont like the main canon ships but thats cus Kishimoto can't write women and romance for the life of him. Shikatema is fine though. Also what's good and bad is objective, I can't tell if Boruto is bad just that it is not for me and will probably stay the same. I think that Boruto shouldn't have been introduced as Naruto next generation but just Boruto on its own, cus I dragged my impression of the Naruto verse with me to Boruto and it is just entirely different with all the extraterrestrialism. Sorry I yapped too much lols.

No matter what Boruto does it will be compared to Naruto in one way or another. And honestly nothing will ever give us the same feeling Naruto did thus Boruto will never be what the people want. So we might as well enjoy/hate Boruto on its own merits/demerits rather than compare it to Naruto :)

If that's how u wanna view it that's fine But me personally boruto gave me new feelings that I felt like in Naruto it wasn't as touched or wasn't in Naruto in the first place For example brotherhood of the 2 protagonist of the show Yes Naruto & sasuke had their dynamics and similarities which made them the characters who we all know. but in all honestly besides from few scenes they was always like oil & water and yes ik this most solely of the brother fight throughout the reincarnation cycle of Indra & ashura. However, boruto & kawaki on the other hand i felt that brotherhood connect and drew closer to the both of them as the story went along them actually living together and going through the same stuff with karma and both havin the same ending goals to push one another always felt way more natural And now with their conflict in TBV it's just hit more at home much more then how it was with Naruto & sasuke

Finally, a take that's somewhat neutral instead of going either being called a hater or saying Boruto fans can't take criticism... I think the series could definitely be better or even written better, and I can see some of the narratives Boruto as a story tries to go for such as the use of technology and the things people do out of love compared to Naruto's hate, I just wish they were executed better and it doesn't help that Boruto picks up what's left of Shippuden's trash such as the broken power system and runs with it, creating even more problems. But holy crap discussing this series is unnecessarily difficult. It's almost as bad as talking about an anime like Black Clover and Fairytail. Everyone just spouts opinion like it's fact, ignoring that they're acting more like an elitist and not a critic just because they love hearing themselves talk...

I'll be honest I hate boruto on the sheer principle that it ignores basic plot points tht kishi dropped, thts honestly my biggest gripe with it, the world wouldn't suddenly get fixed with naruto being hokage he would have to work and negotiate with the daimyos and other Shinobi factions tht don't agree with him, or outright surprises them. Boruto as a series offers very little compared to narutos plethora of themes subplots and characters. Yet it wants to act like it's better than all of tht, I just can't get behind a series that thinks it's better than the original when it clearly isn't, though tht is my opinion.

I hate the series because exactly of the power system and otsutsukis, a clan nobody even wanted to explore yet alone create more antagonists, in at all. Naruto's list of antagonists and villains weren't just the uchiha. They were other people who lived lives and had their own story, motivations, desires, and dreams. For as much as I despise Danzo, he is an amazing character who reflects the dark era of the past. He is someone no matter how much you resented, did what he believed in and died for it. That's why Boruto to me isn't good. It became a series about a boy who wanted to become hokage, who realized that the entire world revolved around shinobi, war, conflicts, ideology clashes, revenge and honor, became nothing more than a DBZ wankfest for its blind fanbase who will lap anything up because it's attached to Naruto.

The biggest crime that Boruto commits is treating the Naruto series characters like garbage and using them as punching bags for the newer cast. Naruto and Sasuke are relegated as jokes and the remaining original casts are practically rendered irrelevant. Good video and really balanced take. I recently had to start keeping up with Boruto because of work reasons, and, as a 29 year old who grew up with Naruto, I was never interested in the sequel. I'd admit that I was one of those guys who mocked the series a few years ago for some stuff I saw online, but now I try to be more respectful with series I don't like since I also do creative writing. But I think I can offer some insights as to why this series is so divisive. - The ending of Naruto. No matter where you stand on this, the ending of the original series was viewed as bad, and most people just wanted to move on afterward. As you mentioned, there was no need for a sequel. Therefore, Boruto feels forced and manufactured rather than a creative endeavor to tell a new story. Yes, most manga stories are commercial art because they want them to be commercially viable and therefore are products, but artistic intent and wanting to make a profit are not mutually exclusive. - Attachment to the older cast. Most people watching Boruto are watching it because of the original cast and the original series. I have never seen someone following this series who hasn't seen the original. Therefore, the attachment with the new cast isn't the same because you want to see Naruto, Sasuke, etc. - Some new characters are too similar to their parents. Boruto is the best example since he originally looked like a carbon copy of his father. It's difficult to convey that this series is writing its own story with most of the main cast are the sons and daughters of the previous main cast. I feel that Sarada, despite some poor clothing decisions, has a good design because she doesn't look entirely like Sasuke or Sakura but rather her own person with some of their details. But is hard to convey this is fresh and new when they look like copies. - The anime. I only know this by second-hand knowledge but the anime has a lot of filler. And most people in the anime community go for the show first. Most who read the manga are probably the hardcore fans who want to keep up. For example, I started with the One Piece anime and then went to the manga because I enjoyed the series. Therefore, the anime scared a lot of people away. - The Otsutsuki. A lot of people didn't like Kaguya, and while developing that concept made sense, the idea of aliens in the Naruto world never worked. Fine, it's not Boruto's fault but the sequel was affected by that decision. - Power scaling. Some characters in the series are way stronger than someone like Madara, Itachi, Obito, Pain, and some other characters people love. A lot of people may not care, but imagine being someone who doesn't like the series already and find out that a random Boruto villain is now stronger than Madara. It will rub people the wrong way. - The art, as you mentioned. Not the worst criticism and people can overcome that, but it feels bland. Rather than having a defined style or a lot of high quality, it just feels bland, which is even worse than being bad. - The side cast. Naruto had the same issue as the story progressed but the characters looked interesting and had interesting premise. No offense to fans of the series, but Mitsuki, Sarada, Eida, and Kawaki are not people I care about. I wanted to know more about Neji, Rock Lee, Gaara, etc. - Naruto and Sasuke as deadbeat fathers. You already mentioned Naruto, so I'm not going to elaborate on that. But I add Sasuke because he was close to his family and did everything in the original series because he lost them. The fact he didn't spend time with his own daughter for so long rubbed people the wrong way. Especially why Sasuke is a divisive character on his own, even in the original series. - No strong antagonists. I don't like using the term "aura" but there is no villain that is really imposing and has that aura that early Orochimaru, Gaara, Madara, Pain, or even Itachi had. Hell, even Zabuza looked imposing and wasn't that strong, in hindsight. I'd even wager that the series does benefit to some degree from being Naruto's sequel in terms of exposure, even if said exposure is not always positive. Imagine if Boruto was an original series and not a sequel. I don't think the writing and art could stand on its own. I'm saying this from a place of respect too.

As someone who only watched a few episodes of the anime (that were kinda "okay", IMO, but didn't really leave me craving for more) and who is always stumbling upon YT shorts talking about some crazy power (up) one of Boruto's characters has, I'd love to know more about the characters main goals and what they do to achieve those goals, about their relationships to one another; about the internal and external obstacles they have to overcome, about what fuels their growth (or their downfall). Anything about what makes them compelling characters outside of their powers or their fighting abilities. Or even anything about the deeper themes of the story. For instance in Naruto, his main goal in the first half was to be accepted, to be seen as more than the fox demon Jinchuuriki because he grew up ostracised, and for that, he thought he needed to become the Hokage. Then, in the second half, while he still wanted to be Hokage, he also wanted to bring peace to the world, to save the world from hatred (and from the hurt he was deeply familiar with due to his past), and for that, he needed to start by saving Sasuke, his friend, from his own hatred. The overarching themes of the manga and the anime, to me, were mainly (I might have forgotten one or two) about the importance of human connections, the curse of hatred and violence, and how to put an end to the cycle of vengeance, it also was about healing from trauma and learning to love oneself. And, yes, it was a bit about hard work and perseverance too. I'm not saying there's not all that (character and story depth) too in Boruto, just that I haven't read or heard anything about it and that, as someone who'd like to be more motivated to read and/or to watch Boruto in full one day, I'd love to hear from fans of the show about what makes you care about the characters and the story.

Sarada does not earn her Ms power up like Sasuke did with his. It literally has no correlations or relevence towards the time skip or reason to even awaken. What is the purpose of the Ms now, after the time skip it still has no relevence.

Besides the art my problem with the sequel is how forced the bad father plot was done as it makes no sense in story. Naruto has mastered shadow clones and has near infinite Chakra. He should easily be able to handle being Hokage and its admin work, be a present father, and even go on missions all at once. A clone being dispelled on his daughter's birthday and dropping the cake and everything he hasn't been present for has no grounds to even be a thing. The clones can be used for work plain and simple. Does no one remember how he learned wind style and the new rasengan? Dude summoned thousands of clones to learn a skill that should take decades in just a few days. Naruto should be the most efficient Hokage in history even if he was still as slow as he was when he was 12. And from the war we learned that his clones can gather Chakra on their own to maintain themselves, including the Sage natural energy. Clones left at home have no business being undone by exhaustion. It's all super forced and unnatural. It makes the new protagonist and the old one look bad as they deal with issues the fans have to turn a blind eye to the lore and common sense to accept. And most importantly it set up the sequel very poorly from the jump.
@Red543218 ай бұрын
Very true, the clone popping during her birthday didn't Make sense at all, it wasn't attacked, and you can't tell me he ran out of chakra And speaking about the art, it's a monthly manga and has bad art in comparison to most weekly manga😭

What was very clearly established and known about Naruto is that he has shit Yin Chakra, the mental side of chakra. Just like how people in real life can get exhausted just from sitting in front of a desk for a few hours. Get Naruto to box Madara, Sasuke and Kaguya for over a day and he's good to go with energy left in the tank, get him to do a desk job for a few hours and he's mentally drained to the extreme. Naruto also considers the Hokage Office Sacred Grounds and would never condone having a clone do his work there for him, plus he compares himself to the previous Hokage who could manage such a task without Shadow Clones. And let's not forget that Shadow Clones don't have to do what the original says.

@@1kbmahan Yes but, as it's mentioned in Boruto several times, he also views _the entire village_ as his family. This is why characters like Sarada & Mitsuki are so glued to him, because despite not being blood related, he gave Mitsuki a shot & Sarada support when her father was absent. Also, since Naruto has never had familial bonds, him not _knowing the obligations organically_ makes complete sense.

Shame, because the story has so many moments that are a love letter to the OG series. One example I love using is the Ao arc; you take this side character and give him a compelling story of a broken vet still trying to find his place in the world, and here comes our new MC trying to validate the shinobi way he threw away with the experience he's gained since tarnishing his reputation, all while learning a lesson about how tools aren't good/bad it's how you use them, and then proving to Ao that throwing away your pride as a ninja won't bring you happiness, only for the clone of his fathers masters to crush Ao (and in a last harah, saving Boruto with ninjutsu) proving he was a shinobi in the end. We then learn that Koji's modus operandi is that a shinobi is _also_ a tool _(neither good or bad)_ which is how he was able to throw Ao away so callously, only to learn this was all for the greater good of stopping Jigen & Kara. All of this done with a side character from the OG series who's entire identity was "being the Mizukages aid and having a byakugan".
@kevintanza69688 ай бұрын
Thing is people are not forced to like it. Some people have this mindset that the default position with something is that you have to like it. And saying that the story is bad doesn't make that reader an "ignorant who can't understand the beautiful, nuanced storytelling" and doesn't make the fan someone who is smart and can see all themes, narratives, and so on. If you like things that are controversial and divisive (like Boruto), you're going to run with critics. Hell, Naruto is a lot more beloved and successful and that series has a lot of critics.

I’ve been feeling this way for a while but I think that the focus or rather the age we’re in shouldn’t be from Boruto’s generation. We grew up seeing Naruto strive to become the greatest Hokage, and in my opinion we shouldn’t have ever seen it. People are just seeing our hero as a bad dad, getting nerfed, etc. and this new insert Naruto but is better skill wise from the jump is a hard pill to swallow. I think they should have skipped a generation where Boruto, Sarada, pretty much the characters were know are already adults and full fledged Ninja and they are the ones training the Next generation. Of fresh new Ninjas with new unique skills and not copy and paste of their parents jutsus we already know about. Naruto has passed away and all we hear about him are his great deeds and all the amazing things he did from stories the others have to tell about him. Like with Every other fan favorite Hokage that came before him. They’re fan favorites and we never see them do anything until way later in the series.

there are alot of plot points in the manga that just make boruto really hard to like even after the deadbeat borutos dad situation was resolved, like theres always some narrative that leaves a good portion of the audience with confusion or complete fustration.......and not the good kind of fustration. i stand by the claim that having naruto and sasuke still be in the same era as boruto is a bad idea because their are genuin moments where all that needs to happen is for naruto or sasuke to show up and everything is just solved it can really cheapen the stakes like even if boruto loses whats stopping his dad from spinning the block for his son power wise having a character so much stronger being closely related to one thats so much weaker and the stronger one also not being a main character is not a good time hence the frustration of that same stronger character keeps being nerfed so that they dont solo the entire universe leaving the actual main character out to dry...... i dont care how tired or offguard sasuke was at the time, with his rinnegan still active he should be able to react to a borushiki flying at him with a little kunai in his periphal visio, sasuke the guy known for his hyper reaction speeds and hyper battle senses simular to narutos cant react to a guy flying at him with just a kunai. dont get me started on naruto and hinata basically getting 1 shotted by kawaki, telling me bro couldnt react in time to avoid getting sealed into a different dimension where did the dawg in these 2 characters we grew up with go???? most of the villains in boruto manga are just aliens with very lackluster motivations and personality i feel like theyre worse than kaguya at this point the entire power system that's been established since the early days of Naruto is also being screwed over and essentially thrown out which is where the confusion comes from........because all of a sudden everyone and their grandmothers second cousin can absorb ninjutsu and chakra in some way leaving taijutsu as the only real way to get in there which makes alot of fights in the manga one dimensional.......and the fights arent rlly good either way their choreographed pretty bad with all those speed lines and reuse of poses and clashes borutos powers just get too convoluted we havent seen anything about the jougan in eons. what is it even, how did a jougan, something that only shibai otsusuki is said to have end up in boruto, it activated at strange times and boruto cant control it. boruto returns from the time skip with......flying raijin somehow.........only minato and tobirama ever managed to use that jutsu properly......so who taught boruto flying raijin?.........boruto now created a jutsu that uses the planets rotation to deal cripling damage to u......somehow...essentially works like a glorified poison if it hits and boy if code isnt the biggest joke in anime, literally got stepped on when boruto teleports into the village cant get more disrespected than that.......the fact that sasuke lost against code and got turned into a tree just baffles me

You say that but at the same time you don’t bother to consider Naruto’s characterization at the end of 700. Naruto historically has been able to build familial relationships with people who aren’t related to him. In ch 700, Naruto stated that the entire village his family and that he can’t be “Dad” just for Boruto at certain times. It’s an ideology that allowed him to save Sarada Uchiha but as a result he unintentionally neglects Boruto. Its flawed. Ofc Naruto knows how dreadful it is to be alone but unlike Naruto, BORUTO ACTUALLY HAS A FAMILY WAITING FOR HIM AT HOME. Therefore Boruto is never truly alone. It’s not the same. What Boruto feels isn’t loneliness, what he feels is a lack of validation because daddy doesn’t pay enough attention to him. He’s popular in school and has friends he hangs out with everyday. That’s something Naruto can’t relate to because he didn’t grow up with a father who used to always be around him only to gradually spend less time with him. He had no one. Add this in with a lack of communication between Boruto and Naruto where Boruto hides how he truly feels, you get the father and son dynamic that you don’t like.

In my opinion the MC of the boruto story should have been sarada uchiha or himawari because they both had way more interesting perspectives to tell at the start and boruto as a character would been way more interesting if he wasn’t locked into the MC slot and had to made more likable. Boruto could have really been this show sasuke or itachi if wasn’t the MC. I also never liked Attack On Titan, it's just not for me, and that's fine. That being said, yeah this is called "Next Generation", it is built on being connected to Naruto, and that is how I judge it. Stuff like Naruto's fathering doesn't feel earned, the lore is pretty bad now and outright contradicts things that Naruto was consistent on, not to mention stuff like fights feeling worse because of that inconsistency, and a lot of the things I liked in Naruto feel dropped rather than resolved at times. But those are just my takes of course.

Tbf He didn’t bring Jiraiya back, he made a clone that is very and I mean very different from his original. It plays into one of the themes of Boruto because a lot of characters are clones of someone that exist, and these clones can never replicate the original.
@midosabbagh8 ай бұрын
@@UnravelGhoulx except they didnt tell anyone he was a clone at first so people weren't sure if he was jyraya or not, which makes your whole point moot. If you were following the story weekly they made you believe it might be jyraya on purpose and just like Kishimoto said people weren't happy.

now i want to see a video comparing how Aang developed as a character and what lessons he learned vs Naruto and what lessons he learned and how those do or dont contribute to fatherhood. cause like the same thing happened to Aang altho it was less he was neglectful or anything like that just more focused on the one kid who was the entirety of his culture.

people will look back at this manga and call it underrated. boruto’s main objective in the first chapter was telling you that this is a completely different story. if you are comparing naruto to it, then you are doing yourself a huge disservice. btw, i was there when Naruto was getting shit on when most was calling it the worst ending they have ever read/seen 💀

To answer your question, yes, yes I have, I've tried thinking about it separate from Naruto as its own story, I've tried to think of the plot, tried to think of the characters, tried to think of the villains, the battles, the conflicts, I've thought about literally everything and even went into Boruto with an open mind willing to give it a chance and I have stuck around over 7 years, from 2017 to 2024 I have stuck by this garbage giving it chance after chance after chance making excuses just to keep going and being foolishly optimistic that its gonna get better and for 7+ years 200 episodes and 89 chapters IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE and I am TIRED. I am DONE making excuses, DONE hoping for things to get better, DONE expecting anything good to come out of this sequel and have completely lost any care or investment in it at all, I am literally ONLY not dropping this because I've invested way too much time into this bs to drop out now, I made it this long so I might as well finish what I started. There is no redeeming qualities about this sequel anymore, the writing? ass, the characters? ass, the plot? ass, the villains? ass, Sarada's MS? worst awakening in Uchiha history, how Naruto got benched? goofy, how Sasuke got benched? pathetic, the OGs? nonexistent, power scaling? complete joke, even Kawaki who was the main saving grace carrying this sequel on his back has now been completely ruined and turned into Codes level of incompetence and pitifulness, hes been reduced to a ragdoll constantly knocked out, sneaked, or making dumbass decisions. I cannot emphasize enough that there are NO redeeming qualities about this sequel anymore, none at all, if you dont D-ride Boruto and just like seeing him do cool shit and bitch everyone he comes across like its nothing then theres nothing enjoyable about this sequel, literally everything ppl say positive about this series is about what COULD happen or what they THINK is gonna happen and more often than not it doesnt, like till this day ppl are still saying 'give it time Sarada will have her moment to shine' and she never does, she's done nothing, I repeat NOTHING since the Boro fight but ppl STILL believe shes gonna have this big turn around and development when its so obvious she wont and Boruto will always steal her spotlight because he has to 'keep his promise' which is a million times worse excuse than Sakura being a medic being why she wasnt allowed to fight on the frontlines much, atleast that made sense for a medic to prioritize healing and staying alive, wtf is Sarada's reason? Boruto promised to be her right hand man and protect her, so now he has to swoop in and protect her from every single conflict she faces and like an obedient dog she obeys him everytime he tells her to stay back and let him handle it. Im done making excuses, done looking at the 'deeper meaning', done looking for nuance that doesnt exist, and done denying the reality that everyone no matter how much they still wanna have faith Boruto will get better knows deep down it wont, their only holding off on condemning it entirely because Boruto vs Kawaki is their last hope and their praying the ending can make up for all the atrocities before it but we all know it wont, but deluding ourselves into believing it will is the only way to get through this mess at this point. Yes I and majority of others get it, we're not dumb, we're not stupid, we're not incapable of seeing the bigger picture, we see and know what the writer is trying to convey, the problem is they do a piss poor job of ding so, the art doesnt help because it lacks so much emotion, every single character is flat, repetitive, inconsistent, and uninteresting, and the fights arent even engaging or fun to watch to compensate for the underwhelming story and poorly written characters. You literally cant even fall back on the MAIN appeal of battle shounen, THE BATTLES. This shit is just a travesty and its time to wake up and stop trying to defend the indefensible because we all know once this sequel ends and theres no more 'give it time let them cook' excuses aint nobody gonna be defending this garbage and will finally admit what we been saying all along as Boruto will officially cement itself as one of the worst sequels in anime history, literally in the top 5 right next to Yashahime and DBGT.

Boruto's popularity relies heavily on OG Naruto's popularity. Outside Japan, if that is a topic, Boruto had poor TV ratings and low views. So casual viewers did not enjoy the anime. Few new fans got the appeal. The manga is an improvement, particularly True Blue Vortex. But its a monthly manga better left binge read when its actually complete

I don't necessarily agree with this video people have fair criticism they have talked about why they don't like this show and people have given their chance or whatever I don't think people are haters of boruto genuinely hate boruto it's the writing choices in the story plots and that's something that is the manga and anime's fault people give gave it a chance when it first started but again when you betray characters from the previous series to try to uplift new characters like boruto by downgrading and down playing Naruto and Sasuke It makes it kind of hard for people really get into the series now I'm not saying people can't like it that's fine but I think it gets it's fair hatred or criticism or whatever because Naruto's been going on for years a lot of us grew up with it and then if you're going to do a sequel yes I expect the same caliber of writing and interest and intrigued like Naruto was and the problem is boruto is not like that and you can't keep telling people that they have to keep waiting or they have to keep reading or watching in order for them to finally enjoy it some shows just don't work and I feel like this is a wasted sequel because if you really want to tell a good story with boruto Tell a good story but not at the cost of Naruto in the previous cast from Naruto if that makes sense

If anything I'm too entrenched in my boruto dislike to read it. I watched the Boruto movie long before I had consistent access to the internet. I treated Boruto post movie the same as I treated seven deadly sins post season 2, with apathy and listen to what happens in the show. I still don't believe two blue vortex is going to be good, but I will shut my mouth and wait for how it play out(Because its a semi clean slate). The thing I'm looking for is consistent quality, not consistently amazing of course, decent to good.

For as much as I despise Danzo, he is an amazing character who reflects the dark era of the past, a shinobi who by all means defined what a shinobi means. He is someone no matter how much you resented, did what he believed in and died for it. You can recognize that and respect that. Why should I love a series when it doesn't remain consistent with its initial goal of trying to find your own shinobi way and move out of the shadows of your parents legacy into suddenly trying to stop an alien from nuking and killing everybody with no end goal in mind? Why should I remotely care about these characters they hype up when over half of them are irrelevant since even before the timeskip in the chunin exams and no form of dichotomy? The worst part is that all of them are lazy rehashes with no motivations of their own. Chocho is just a copy of her father with no traits from her mother. Shikadai copies shikamaru and the series must've ignoed or forgotten Temari is his mother. Basically, the series still has the shonen misogynistic view of women in the series. They just only exists as extensions of a parent and not their own character. Sarada initially was separate from this before Blue Vortex ruined her and she as well is just the same, an extension of Sasuke and Boruto, who whines and cries and does nothing. That, along with terrible plotholes, a broken power system, and mischaracterizations, is the reason why Boruto is the worst next gen/modern anime and manga in existence and the reason why I stopped at the Chunin Exams arc. Just because it's popular doesn't mean its exempt from criticism, since people think popular show equates to it being good. I criticize DBS as well and I'm fine with the show. Bleach TYBW arc still has detractors and people saying it should've ended at Aizen. Boruto's fanboys can't accept criticism of the show at all. They just say "don' watch it then if you don't like it" as a means to deflect valid critiques of a show that Kishimoto himself never wanted.
@thomaskennedy57285 ай бұрын
Completely agree. Danzo was a good villan,he felt like a true villian inspite of not being that overpowered to nuke a City. Even though aizen was probably stronger than anyone they shown in boruto and Naruto,he wasn't liked for this reason. He didn't lift his sword much in entire series but all his dialogues,calmness, emotional damage he gives to enemy made him one of the most unique Villains. Even His presence felt frightening. Boruto villian lack this depth,they are given overpowered traits and just fights, nothing else.

I initially despised the story because of how powerhouses such as Naruto and Sasuke were completely embarrassed from characters who seemed to not work for anything. When I saw what Jigen did to these gods of Shinobi I wanted to drop the series right then and there. Furthermore, I saw no point in killing Kurama either, a character that was essentially integral, or I guess a better word would be synonymous, with Naruto’s character.
@stephonwalker54258 ай бұрын
The thing with Jigen I can almost understand with how people hate how he was destroying Naruto and Sasuke, but it also make sense since he of the same race as Kaguya and might be just as strong as her. They also had help from Sakura and Kakashi while with Jigen it was mostly just them doing the fighting.

@@stephonwalker5425 problem is we have Momoshiki over here who is stated multiple times to be way stronger than Kaguya and look how our two old protags dumpstered that fool. And then that one guy who got injured by Kaguya is somehow overpowering them now, and so easily at that. The power scale is all over the place, and like it doesn't take professional power scaling geeks to figure that out. And srsly what's up with Sasuke's chakra ffs. I watch the anime and read the manga and have to admit mitsuki and sarada are way more enjoyable in the anime. Same for team 10 and himawari and kawaki as well, although unless we start getting them written in the manga, it does feel off. In the anime, kawaki basically has a soft spot for himawari and more or less acknowledges that she sees him as an older brother, so he protects and helps her. U can argue its cuz she is Naruto's daughter but i feel like they try and portray it as him caring. In the manga, i feel like i don't remember them even interacting outside of breaking the vase

I will say this my problems with Boruto aren't just with it, are with Naruto's ending as a whole, and no, it's not a pairing problem(Even through in my opinion from the manga perspective which is what i experience it just makes no sense), i have a ton of problems with the ending of Naruto... So can i expect Boruto to solve Naruto... No and it shouldn't, it should progress on it's own thing... But it will keep carrying them, so yeah im not going to waste my time on it because of that. Because my problem is not just Boruto, it's Masashi Kishimoto writting through the ending of his own Manga, and i can't expect it's sequel to be better.
