I like Boruto (the show) overall, but I think Boruto himself is way too passive; the format of a shonen battle anime works best with an active protagonist: a passive protagonist reacts to the plot, while an active protagonist makes actions effecting the plot, and it feels like, since the movie arc, all Boruto's been doing is reacting.
