I honestly love the filler episodes of Naruto with all the creative techniques. My favorite being word binding jutsu aka waving one finger like a witch to cast techniques/spells and control people. Or in the chunin where one used extensively sealing tags to get rid of rubble. Imagine being able to weave sealing marks on your body instantly to absorb incoming attacks, absorb the chakra or convert the chakra to your own element and throw it back.

actually just look at the shippuden episode where everyone uses doryuheki (this same jutsu) against bijuudamas, everyone can perform any nature jutsu, but not every single jutsu. remember kakashi?, he was a copy ninja using every nature, but his affinity is lightning. also a lot of other characters have performed some basic jutsu away from their nature like sasuke.

@Dalton Long in the naruto universe, any ninja can perform any nature jutsu, the affinity is a thing that helps a ninja focus on a single element change of his chakra to make powerful techniques, like sasuke, he uses katon (fire) but his affinity is lightning, he's never changed fire nature, but he changed lightning nature. same as kakashi, who only changed lightning nature using his shiden or chidori into wolves or things like that. boruto can use a wind rasengan and a lightning rasengan cuz he has those two affinities, but he can't do an earth rasengan cuz he lacks of the affinity. that doesn't mean he can't do a basic doton jutsu without changing nature.

The mud wall was unnecessary. Electricity only shocks you when you provide it with a path to ground through you (or to an area of different potential).
