Awesome video as always guys! Cheers for the shout out too! Its an amazing saw, yes its heavy but when you take all the features, dimensions and power into account its a fair compromise. Its smooth, it's got more power than you'd ever need, its very accurate and very user friendly. The dust boot is the only downside but for me its barely a issue. 10/10 for me

You guys made me spend $4500 on Bosch line. Bosch better look after you guys! I wouldn’t have bought it if it wasn’t for your reviews. This saw is a whole different animal; This is a Monster Saw and soo damn smooth. Mate it cuts like hot knife through butter! Very impressed with the saw stand, very well made and fits perfectly for the functions we need it for. It was tricky to get head around bevel set up on the saw but i got it finally!😀 Love the saw and we have more Bi Turbo line tools coming in our tool upgrades. 🤙Keep it up guys!👍👍👌👌

$4500 is some real dosh! Money well spent though I reckon, as you've already said The 12" is crazy powerful for a battery tool hey!? Yeah the bevel adjustment on the bosch saw can be pretty tricky to figure out, super easy to use once you get it though!

Like Bosch tools run quite a few. The Procore batteries are awesome. Never had a go at that type of slider arm would like to try it. Normal sliders I have one don't carry it as never use it and they bite which I hate. I do general carpentry first and second fix and cabinetry without a slider just a 10 inch drop saw, circular saws and a track saw. The track saw only last couple of years. Being old school I learnt to frame, cut and pitch and do finish work all with circular saws and they are still my go to tool. Didn't get my first drop saw until about 1989 years after I started. Wouldn't ever carry that dirty great thing the eight inch sounds better but depth of cut a bit limiting. 10 inch for me is the sweet spot.

I came across this saw in Nz but it was the cable version. Loved it then but cut not afford it. I have had to come back to the uk for family reasons.. and have re setup. During my setup Bosch came out with the battery one.. and ok it cost me £800 brand new quite the sting.. but soooo worth it. As the people here have said it is strong.. well built.. accurate, and cuts like butter. Batteries are good to. It takes the older versions not just pro core.. and if not forced through the wood.. you can get a good day on eco.. and half day between two old style batteries. I had the bigger bar version and that was corded.. but yeah was a heavy boy. This is heavy but I don’t know seems manageable.. no bars and more balanced. Don’t go on a hike with it.. but yeah it’s manageable. It’s also got gps via a onboard chip. When it’s powered up.. the gps sends a signal to your phone so you know where it is all times. Then you have all it’s modes.. etc.. yep it’s a cracker from Bosch and smooth as to use. It’s my baby in the back for work and I guard it with my life. Takes Dewalt benches etc.. with there feet etc. So yeah like I said it’s my baby and worthy purchase. Goes well with the Bosch hoovers.. do a review on them boys. 😊👍🏻😉

I have the 216 with the Bosch collapsible bench. The same exists for the 305 with wheels which is dead handy for moving and set up. I went for the 216 as I only have 7 & 8 Ah batteries, the 305 derates to 1800w unless you have 12Ah batteries. 12Ah batteries are very expensive, so I chickened out.

The only bench tool I've got in my shop is the 240v 10" version of this saw and it is a weapon. The 12 wouldn't fit in my space so Im glad I got one before they stopped bringing that model into Oz for some reason. This battery one looks great, but on site I wonder if the biggest advantage of the saw, the fact you can back it up to a wall in a small shop, is somewhat lost. The extra weight vs the slightly smaller footprint in the ute compared to a traditional railed saw would be a factor but that battery life and power is just insane on a cord free unit!

How exact would you say is the mitre scale? If you put it on 45⁰, does it cut 45⁰ accurately?:) Have a kapex 120 and it performs realy well, but am realy interested in this 18v :)
@OZToolTalk
@OZToolTalk 3 жыл бұрын
I would say that any mitre saw is as accurate as you calibrate it right? I wouldn't expect it to be within 0.1° out of the box, but you could certainly get it there....
@TheClaudos
@TheClaudos 3 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised you didn't mention the arm feature which allows this unit to sit closely if stacked up against a wall in a bench unit or on a bench top? Unlike with most mitre saw units, you need to consider the (extra space at the back) it needs for the arms to slide back after making each cut. This is something really useful for tight garage spaces how much bench space you need. Secondly, the electric brake doesn't seem to be as efficient than a Makita or Dewalt I have noticed in your video? I could be wrong! Am still using the 255mm older Bosch type, was looking at Makita or Dewalt until I saw the arm feature with this Bosh unit. A lot of positive things from your review has changed my mind about the others.

Going to NZ Fieldays this in June, its come down to either this thing or dewalt DCS781, Im all in on dewalt right now, but this Bosch might just get me to add a second line of tools to my van. Im prioritising accuracy above anything else, so wonder which one is more accurate, 0.5mm over 400mm is actually insane out of the box, mates dewalt is 2mm out in 200mm omg! I cant do festool as they dont appear to make 300mm saw

@@OZToolTalk i got the dewalt. Just felt like a better saw when using it. Much lighter too and dewalt stand is far better than the bosch. Dewalt came bang on out of the box. Havent had to adjust it. Having that shadowline is a big deal in poorly lit environments since it lights up your work area. Doing mitre cuts just wait faster with dewalt, that lever just makes it so easy, bosch had that nob to have to loosen or tighten. One other thing is dewalt saw talks to my dewalt vacuum like makitas aws, bosch didn’t have anything similar.

If your refering to the GAS 18V-10L the battery cover/lid will fit a 8ah battery(a bit snug but it does close). 12ah battery can be used but I believe the battery cover/lid gets in the way . Mine came with a part that replaces the lid/cover so it's always open and the 12ah fits fine. Edit: I'm referring to the 18v procore batteries by the way
