Miter saws are notoriously dusty machines. Manufacturers do their best, but my experience over 20 years shows a miter saw dust collection hood I the best solution. I invented one 15 years ago and it’s seen in many of my videos. Thanks for sharing this review Mike! Scott

Greeting from Germany. I use the same mashine for Decks, carports, Garages and framing. Its a tank of a saw. You have good points about the Dust extraction and a guard lock. If there is an Gen2 of this i really would love the option to switch from Laser to a blade shadow. There are Metabo saws for half the price with that option. Also like the two SDE Miters and the SDJ it needs an propper handle or an propper eyelet to hook it on a crane. This is at least important for tradies like me that need to get this colusus up to the 4th or 5th floor or a roof.

Can’t beat a good cross cut saw Mike . Just be aware cutting with grain can Chuck the wood out . Always try to use when cutting across the grain and use table saw to cut with grain . Great review though mate .

Thanks for the advice Terry, I totally agree mate, I only used the pieces to demonstrate the max. width of cut. Cheers Mike

What about hooking it up to a vacuum by way of Bluetooth? It's nice to be able to pull the trigger and have the vaccum come on automatically.
@MikeWaldt

If I understand Bosch info correctly, both 8Ah battery and 5.5Ah battery have same size cells (21700) in 5S2P configuration, but the 5.5Ah is capable of higher output current than 8Ah, at a cost of reduced capacity.

Great review of a lovely piece of kit. I have to agree with others and say that for me, being workshop rather than site work, 240V would be the better option.

Hi Mike, That looks an amazing saw and a great review of it Mike. I rarely use my mitre saw so definitely not in the market for one of these. Never the less it is an amazing piece of kit. Take care Mike. Cheers, Huw

Hi, is there a reason you went for the battery machine over the corded? Given you are in a workshop setting.

If you are interested, I picked up this cordless miter saw to free up outlet amperage. My previous saw plugged into my Festool Vac and both would share the 20 amp circuit. So the vacuum would never be able to be used on full power. With the cordless setup the vacuum can use on full power and the batteries give you so many cuts per charge that it hasn't been a issue. The other benefit is to put the miter saw on a rolling table, and being able to roll it around the shop and outside to make some cuts without worrying about a cord has worked well for me.

Why does this keep getting re-posted? I could see this being useful on a job site that didn't yet have power or working out of a storage facility with no power. Anybody seen a Li-Io powered brushless lathe?

Bosch won't fit a guard locking mechanism for blade changing to stop numpties from leaving it in that position when sawing, your clamp idea negates that- Safety!!!
