A free saw is a free saw but the slides and throat make it massive. Much prefer the saws with the slides on the front. Ask Bosch for one of their GLDs next time.

Another informative video thank you! Just wanted to say you have really inspired me with your workshop build and showing what you can do with a small workshop. I’m about to get my garage set up and I’ve been taking tips from you. So thank you.

Thanks for the overview Matt, it looks like a great piece of kit, and very well thought out - particularly like the additional support for wide board as this can be a bit hairy with the slider fully extended ! I still have the first cordless 24v 254mm chopsaw that Bosch made about 20 years ago, it's a bit underpowered tbh, but has been useful tool to have, despite not having the sliding mechanism or trenching cut ! The batteries are all dead now so thinking of converting it somehow as I can't currently justify a new one !

I have a Bosch 10” glide that I love but it is heavy. I’m envious of the way you easily lifted it up on your bench. I could live with the longer form factor if I could put it away after every use. Don’t want, need or have the space for it to be permanently mounted somewhere. Thanks for another great video.

Hi Matt, looks like a good portable saw, packed with useful features. The only downside I could see was the size of the footprint. Mitre station set up would require a large depth as the base rails extend a long way. For a large capacity saw which is portable 👍🏻

Quite like the looks of that Mitre Saw with all its supporing features. Ive been looking back at some of your older vids relating to dust collector / cyclone's, be intresting to see how good this saw is at getting the saw dust away.
@Size15s
@Size15s Жыл бұрын
That was my first thought - how is the dust collection. The CTS QuickClick hose system clicks straight into that dust port which is so useful

Awesome looking tool, Matt! Congrats! 😃 I have a cheap big one, probably the same size I guess. And my shop is small as well, so I built the Fisher's Shop miter saw thingy... You know? I'm not sure you'd have enough space... But something like that works amazingly. You pull it to the middle of the shop, use it and then push it back to a corner. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Like the extra plastic supports. Cant help but think having the table the same height as an l-boxx would also be of benefit for the same thing. Nice overview though mate.👍

Hi, nice video, thanks! I now bought this miter saw and noticed that the main table is very plain compared to other models. For example, the 18V-216 has the fine grooves in the table for better support of the work piece. The side tables are slightly better but still not in the known quality. The surface of the rulers, at least, ist still very nice. Do you have the same experience?

Thanks for sharing! I wonder if Bosch will ever release a version with the slide rails out the front or their wizard Axial-Glide system, to make it more compact? The flag stops are a great addition I've not seen before, and the blue plastic rests being able to attach to the arm could be really helpful.

Great review! I have a request, can you check if it is possible to cut skerting to 10 cm? Bosch gives 9 cm but it is often more. I will be very grateful !

Ooh, that mitre saw looks very nice! Smart feature of that motor being on an angle, my Bosch mitre saw has it just straight and it has been in the way more than once! Just curious, but did yu have to return that smaller one to Bosch? Awesome to have them as a sponsor, so happy for you Matt!

Please get that front leg on your work bench. That clamp in the front is not going to keep it from tipping towards you with a wide enough board and the weight of the saw head. It's an accident waiting to happen.

I have a wired Bosch saw like that, and a small workshop like you. Its not a good combination im afraid, theres no efficient place to house it due to the large area at the front and back to accomodate the slide. Maybe with yours being battery, you have baked in portability? But with mine, its definitely a tool regret.

I would not even consider buying this saw and the reason is very simply because the amount of improvements that have taken place over the past five years or so, it feels like Bosch has gone backwards with the giant wheel at the rear and most of all the sliding rails. Space is always a issue for most workshops so why go back to using giant rails stopping the owner from having it close to the wall behind it. The darn thing is a total waste on space and to have it stay against the wall you'll have to make a hole into the outer walls so the rails go through, which obviously is a ridiculous thing to do 😢 Matt we know that you're basically sponsored by Bosch but it would be really good to hear you actually say what everyone thinks and that you need ridiculous amounts of space to use this saw without having to move your worksurface each time you want to use it!!!
@BischBaschBosch
@BischBaschBosch Жыл бұрын
Bosch do the "glide" or GDC saws that use the unique folding mechanism, saving space at the back. The only do 305mm blade in 18v though. Hardly a design that is standing still.
@hogthrob

I'm guessing this is mostly intended as a site saw, what with the carrying handles and cordlessness. Did you notice how far the bench was from the wall?
@simonr6793
@simonr6793 Жыл бұрын
@@hogthrob yeah I definitely noticed, to have that saw in one place your workshop will have to be very wide or long just because of the size of the workbench needed to keep it on!
