2 things. 1: How is the vibration? Having 1 arm means sanding can be a bad venture for me. 2: Lowes has it now at $119 (with the free battery and bag). Had a coupon and ended up getting it at $108 , but I'm yet to use it. I'm realllly hoping it is smoother than the other cordless models I've used like Dewalt. Also, I'm still waiting on the left blade Strongarm. I'm hoping Bosch releases it soon. My current circ is on its last leg. I almost bought the 36v Makita with the Home Depot BF sale but it's a rear handle, and they don't make a cordless top handle 7-¼ with a left blade. Neither does Bosch sadly. And with that said, Bosch really doesn't have any great deals this year. I've gotten far better deals throughout the year. But getting $10 off on this sander was better than nothing. Wanna buy 8 of the free chargers? $5 each lol.

Honestly, there does seem to be more vibration than with my more expensive corded sanders, but I think that was too be expected. Since this sander is much more compact. Isolating the motor would be much harder. I think bosch focused on runtime and ergonomics. Since you've already bought it, I'd suggest trying it, if I'm not mistaken, you should have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Let me know how that goes. Good luck.

@@tooltipswithtommy thank you. I had switched to pnuematic sanders (even a $40 one is amazing compared to anything electric I've ever tried) but the hose, and compressor aspect are a pain to deal with. I'm hoping one day, a *good* cordless sander arrives. The Dewalt I bought made my hand numb for an hour after using it 10 minutes. So I'm hoping this Bosch is at least,, better than that. I was close to trying the GET75-6N, but for that price, I could still go festool via a corded style. But once again, cord management is a pain. Having only 1 arm means I lack the 2nd arm to hold the cord. I've made many rigs, and systems to deal with it, but they all still become a hindrance. I do like the soft pad switch out though. I'll be doing that myself. Thank you again! Many people overlook Bosch so there's little info about things out there for them. Keep up the great work.

Will the GEX18V fit a 8.0Ah ProCORE battery? The manual and documentation don't mention it. The height of a 8.0 Ah battery is 69 mm and the height of a GEX18V is 108 mm, measured from the top. It may be too close for comfort.
@tooltipswithtommy Жыл бұрын
Yes it will fit, and the pad will still lay flat

@@tooltipswithtommythank you brother. 8.0 Ah is the procore battery I have. It likely throws off the balance. I'll get the 12 V one first and resign to the fact that I'll own both in the future. The Bosch promotion footage actually shows them fitting a 12.0 Ah battery 😂 Just saw it recently.

I know you said you are using a soft backing pad for the Bosch. Exactly what backing pad are you using? I believe that the one that came with the unit may be a little bit too hard for what I need it for as I will be sending epoxy resin. I would like to change it to a softer one however I need to know exactly which one to get

What do you think of it now that you've had it for a few months? (Also: what brand of sanding disk do you use?) Just getting into Bosch tools and this is one of the few brushless sanders on the market, so I'm thinking of getting one someday.
@tooltipswithtommy3 жыл бұрын
Well as you can see I have a lot of sanders, honestly I grab my festool, or my bosch ros56. Which are both corded. I haven't needed a cordless one lately. Most work I do is in my garage/ workshop. But I do like this sander, and runtime is fantastic. I need to find some more applications for it. I've used Diablo, and bosch paper on it.

If you'd gone with 40-60 grit it probably wouldn't go on for an hour and you would get more effective sanding done - but you probably now that. Pretty impressive anyway, my almost perfect Makita doesn't last that long with similar Amph battery - but I haven't tried long-hauling it like you did. Great tool, my brother just bought one - he has everything blue Bosch - great tools - only gripe is that the batteries tend to die completely within a couple of years and certainly a lot faster than my Makitas. Do you experience the same with the batteries? At the public school were I work we have all blue Bosch, and we see the same - batteries dying within a couple of years and almost new batteries with battery indicators not working even if the batteries work. Which sucks, 'cause the tools themselves are good.
@tooltipswithtommy3 жыл бұрын
I have had some batteries seem to die prematurely, but I've had some that have lasted over 5 years. Kind of hit and miss. Most of my issues have been with the 12 volt batteries. Thanks for the feedback.

If one owned the ROS65, but wanted a cordless sander too, would you choose the GEX18V or GEX12V?
@tooltipswithtommy3 жыл бұрын
That's a really good question. If you have bosch 18 volt tools, I'd get the 18v, if you have bosch 12 volt tools I'd get the 12v. If you have neither, I think I'd get the 12 volt, with the 12v 6 amp hour battery. They both work very similarly, the 12 volt is a bit more ergonomic. The ROS65 is way better than both though. That's my favorite sander. Nice choice. Hope this helps.
@ajdizzle4shizzle3 жыл бұрын
@@tooltipswithtommy That definitely helps, thank you. I own both 12v and 18v Bosch tools. I think I will go with the slightly more ergonomic 12v version. Thanks again!!!

Works a lot better with a profactor battery which I think they only have 8 amp out now
@tooltipswithtommy3 жыл бұрын
They also have a core 4 amp hour, which is the one I used
@6atlantis3 жыл бұрын
Pro factor and core are the same thing. Here in the states they marked it as “Core”, they don’t stamp the word profactor on to the battery. We have the new profactor tools, but for example a 4ah Core is the same as a 4ah profactor.
