Your a diesel fuel injection pump mechanic/specialist. I think it will be more easier and faster for you to do the job using some more additional special tools like, Clapping support (turnable vice) for holding in-line pumps of all sizes and a two clamping parts for cradle-mounted type injection pump. I also noticed the clamping fixture for compressing the roller tappets during fitting and removal is also a self made one. Using correct tools and equipment saves a lot of times. There are two kinds for bosch pumps. 0986611613 and KDEP1553 (for P7100/P7800 series pumps). The KEDP... has one more size for another series of bosch pump.

@Fier I've been in the business for more than 12 years and decided to make this video and show people how it's done. This pump was due for servicing. Generally, a fuel leak on the pump means that the gasket and seals are worn and must be replaced. Also, parts must be checked for signs of excessive wear and replaced if necessary.

You would have to look at the previous versions. If one had an inline pump version(there might be a chance it will work). But I can't say if it will work better or if not at all. Too many things to consider.

Great video ! I have an old tractor, around 1970. It is equipped wih a bosch P pump, with a vacuum govenor. The speed controls goes to the intake manifold, an from here via a pipe to the injection pump. Is it possible, and easy to change that out for a regular flywheel govenor? Thanks

Usually, diesel shops follow specifications. Most likely this will involve customization. They might also see if there are similar old versions of pumps equipped with just a mechanical governor for your type of tractor.

I don't recommend changing shims on this pump without proper equipment. Seals on the barrel may leak if you do so.

My canter FE70CB truck of year 2002 with engine 4D33 failed to start and the mechanics I brought told me the problem is with the injector pump but the advice is that I remove it and put one of an older model canter. The way they want to fix it is really by force. It is like forging it on. Their reason is that the type which is in is "delicate" our fuel in uganda is not good. My question is; Can that injector pump be repaired or cleaned and how?

Does it have an electronic governor on the top of the VE pump? Sometimes conversion will work and will require some modifications. Is it a manual transmission?Be aware that you'll have a check engine light on the dash(can remove or disable?).

Common failure would be on the electronic governor(Top cover part) of the pump.

Try changing fuel filters, check clutch condition, adjust valve timing. How long since the fuel pump was serviced? Maybe it needs to be repaired.

@MrCordier Pump seems to be electronically controlled. If you turn on the key, did the solenoid move and went back to zero? Did you check the emergency shut-off? Did you get it to start?

Try searching for Bosch plunger helix. Generally gives out more fuel when the inlet port aligns at the upper part of the plunger's helix. The effective stroke is increased.

@@naderhh5142 regardless having two helix on the plunger element. If it's right-handed, rotating the plunger clockwise (viewed from the top of the barrel) increases the effective stroke(more fuel).
