I recommend installing surge and power line monitoring on the AH, too. This is often not done, but those AHs are getting more complicated, and those ECM motors cost so much to replace.

You mentioned that this is a 3 to 5 ton adjustable system. Does that mean that if I need 3 ton or a 5 ton system, I will still be buying the same physical model ( both indoor and outdoor ) and turn it into a 3 ton or 5 ton system by those dip switches ?

Also, can you tell us exactly what models you got and what $$ amounts are you going to get for the tax credit and the rebates? I too am in Indiana so I’m trying to find that out . For some reason I can’t seem to get a straight answer on the $$ amounts. Thanks, great video, I’ve probably watched it 10 times. Can’t wait to see your follow ups on this.

Did he say he paired up the outside unit 20 seer to the indoor furnace unit 20 seer? Also I didn’t know they called the indoor unit by seer is that correct?

Would the cycle rate need to be at one on a Honeywell t-stat if the IDS Light system was installed?

They come set on 3 but Bosch recommends 1

@@johnstonesolutions2461 oh ok, was that the reason why you went with a 20 seer? And what is the reported efficiency for that unit, was it 96 or 98%? Thanks for responding, I’ve in the process of selecting my Bosch unit now.

Increased performance, energy efficiency, but very expensive for repairs. Once you are out of the warranty period the repairs will cost you big bucks!! Never will recoup your money on energy saving with needed repairs. I never understood if all of these high efficiency units are so great, the manufacturers should include a 10 year labor warranty period along with the warranty on parts.
