so why not just pick a vendor who uses R32 (already used worldwide in residential systems) instead if my R410 system needed replacement? my refrigerant lines are in a slab, no chance I'm going to pay to replace those.

Can we put this ontop of a 80 present furnace with-a open Flame and w
@schlz6925 күн бұрын
yes, with exceptions, you need a kit that detects a leak and shuts everything down. this will be a temporary solution till all the 80% are phased out, and Yes they are slowly being phased out, by state and local regulations.

R454B is 1234yf and R32. Not propane.
@Balticblue938 күн бұрын
Just hearing him say that it was propane and that 454b is the main new refrigerant makes anything else he says invalid. R32 has been used across the world since 2012. R32 is by far the best choice in a new system, it is higher efficient and requires less refrigerant for the same output. If he doesn't know these things, his opinion goes out the window.

There is no propane in 454B or R-32. Totally false information. As an HVAC instructor and former factory representative I teach refrigerant certification classes including on the new refrigerants.

mildly flammable refrigerant does not bother me but the costs added for leak sensors in evap coils & up front equipment costs is Mine & my Customers main concern 410 a is 1/2 R 32 anyways adapt & move on its 2025 & its here to stay ..for a while till R 32 is phased out down the road & now R 410 a prices will start to soar up again bc I remember just 4 yrs ago 410 was lees than 100 buck JUG NOW ITS 300 $ - 400 & uP AROUND HERE

wow new line set sure its recommended but mandatory ? not sure why ? i surely hope Not ...hope if Thoroughly flushed with R11 & nitro & if proven leak free in an isolation test Ive herd from my Reps is standard protocol

I saw something the other day that the oil for 410 and 454b are compatible,r32 uses a different oil, which would require flushing. That said, I always try to replace the line sets when practical

Agreed. Replacing the refrigerant line is the best answer.

HaHa, you just lost all credibility at 2:20, Propane as a refrigerant is R-290, R454B is a mix of R32 and R1234YF, neither contain R-290 or propane. Get your facts straight before putting out garbage like this.
@HVACexplained-ATC18 күн бұрын
You are right. Technically, R454B is 68.9 percent difluoromethane (R-32), a hydrofluorocarbon, and 31.1 percent 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (R-1234yf). But it is still mildly flammable and not dissimilar to the chemical formula for propane (C3H8).
